Neversong Reviews
Help little Peet hack-and-slash his way through a beautifully haunting coma. A hand-drawn action-adventure through a dreamy world filled with fleshy monsters, insane grown-ups, and sad children looking for their mommies.

Lovely art direction, music, and overall design, but so profoundly un-fun to play with keyboard and mouse. The game recommends a controller, but it's basically a requirement if you want to enjoy the game mechanics. Just not worth the slog to get the story, unfortunately.

Great game by Thomas Brush! I thought this was an improvement from his previous game Pinstripe. I definitely recommend it, especially on sale.
What I enjoyed:
- The art style is pretty
- The soundtrack is surprisingly catchy!
- The puzzles were fun to solve
- The animations, hit effect and the overall "juice" of the game is super polished
- The bosses were cool most of the times
- A short but sweet experience, only took me 4 hours to beat
What I didn't enjoy:
- Having previously played Hollow Knight, I have to say that the combat feels clunky. The attack range is way too short and you'll bump into enemies accidentally way too may times
- The enemies were VERY basic
- There were some weird bugs with the movement, the hitboxes and the enemies, but nothing too crazy
- A few frustrating parts, especially the laser room (you'll know when you play it)
But overall, I still enjoyed it, truly! If you're looking for a perfect game then go look somewhere else lol, but despite its flaws, I still enjoyed my time with it. And I mean, I got it for 3 bucks so this was a great deal!

Bought this on sale but it was worth more then full price.
From the beginning you given a mystery that needs to be solved, and as I interacted with the game I found myself getting emotionally invested. Everything from the atmosphere to the characters to the writing, oh my goodness the writing was superb! It had elements of self-awareness that had me lmao-ing, which helped to lighten the darker themes explored through the story. The game isn't long(only took me a few hours to finish the main story) so anyone can easily find time in one's busy schedule to enjoy this game. My only wish was that the boss battles were a little more difficult but they were still challenging enough to keep me on my toes. Well done, now please excuse me while I go hug my family.
