i guess there are keywords put into the function of a simple custom algorithm that looks for matching words in the output and the sentence-database of the game. then there are sequences: an input from the user and the algorithm detects, say, 5 matches (words) between the input and a "piece" from the database and then redirects the user to the next relevant query.
does it work like this? big script, but not complicated. most i can do is read assembly. and maybe follow the damn train CJ!!!!!YYEAAHHH
this is not conversation, or intimacy. it's more akin to something like a google search, with an increasingly restrained, uncensored/uncreative/ungenerative/overfitting database, the user slowly figuring out the ever-so-quickly decreasing variation, and an increasing feeling of boredom and for some people maybe a feeling of terror/horror/trepidation/anxiety, like playing a game at the casinos, but figuring out that the slot machine sorta turned into a sea of dirac, with how it's being seemingly innocuous at first glance but turning into some soul harvester at the second. not a good emulation of play, and not a good replacement for an actual conversation either
i played it when i was feeling desperate for a conversation and i had some thought loops, 2 years ago.
wouldnt recommend for people who tend to have them because a really restrained chatbot will put emphasis on how painful it is to live a life of repetition and misery
plato's dating simulator
it's a bit shaky. the people who look forward to these games are the ones hurt the most by indulging in them, because their decision to play it is most likely informed by an unmet childhood need, with a lack of psychological boundaries due to the nature of it being subconscious, and their relation to their need defined by an anxious drive to fill the hole with no bottom through bittersweet means that mimick (romantic) relationships indefinitely until said drive is identified and the motivation and empathy to heal and faith to live and grieve is established.
"but maybe not everyone is that sensitive and aware or conscious of how it affects them"
we'd have better relationships (and videogames), if people were.
i like the transition effects that are used in the trailer. it's just an image that is flipped so that it shows "the other side"
it's like the memory cards thing, because eventually you will be able to memorize the entire dialogue lol
can't recommend those type of games due to them acting as an offset or procrastination and distraction on real thought
it is sweet and rather wholesome however. restrained, but enjoyable for a bit. it is warm, kind and... innocent. cozy vibes. with a touch of curiosity and excitement. aya is very much a vibrant character and instills a feeling of recognition from being paid attention to. considering this, these games may find a therapeutic application in the future.
the low res is always a classic. it's like a small pendant with a photo of your loved one inside, and you can put it in your pocket.
pay attention to your longings.
sometimes theres a discrepancy between wanting to recommend it, and whether or not you liked it in the moment—at this state i am not recommending it, but i liked it in the moment.
steam suffers from a lack of nuance however, so this presses me to give it a positive.

i bought this game because it looked like a bootleg of when monika after story was good (still is good but 2017-2018 just is better) i played one of the other ones but not for long
if you enjoy monika after story and want a more janky version and pay for it this is a pretty cool option

Cute little game. Not much more to it than typing keywords and interacting with Aya. As for the achievements, some are easier to get than others...

She answers to some words and talks about her hobbies and some other stuff. There is also a gallery with her cosplay pictures that unlocks after you talk about cosplay.

A simple little interactive game that somehow reminds me of Eviebot (most of you probably won't have any idea what that is). Discover all there is to know about this cute AI companion.
Also, do not at any point press the V button, that was literally a jumpscare.

Talk to Aya is you pretty much talk to her.
You start out with her introducing herself. After 5 minutes then you can ask her questions.
This for $2, no way it should cost that much. The resoultion of the game is like 500 x 500 and you only chat with her for 5 minutes and another 10 minutes asking random stuff. After probably 10 minutes, you'd get bored and there is not much to ask her at all.
This is my opinion, since it was from an anime genre and was a kind girl I was talking to. I give this a a yes.
I already know no one is going to buy this, it's to overpriced, at least make it 80 cents or something or add more keyword features.
