222 Hearts is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one has one notable difference, in order to pass through each level, instead of just timing your jumps, you plan them with the mouse, clicking to start the jump and setting the direction. This allows you to trajectorise your double-jumps, which is needed to avoid all the spikes and so on. Needless to say this wasn't the shot in the arm that the old, dead, and obsolete 2D platforming genre needed. It's a flop. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? 222 Hearts is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.

Short and Sweet platformer. Played it sparingly in a day and completed it. Overall the only thing I didn't liked was the fact that there was only one music track for the most part, but even then you don't grow tired of it. If you like platformers and need to scratch that itch, go for it.

Game is not expensive at all and good fun for a good hour. The soundtrack that consists of 1 song can get a bit repetitive and theres no story to talk about either. The dash mechanic is decent enough, hitboxes can feel very hit or miss and some levels may take you a few tries. Controls (i played with controller) too can be a little janky. If you need a very quick plattformer fix that you can finish in about 1 hour, i can recommend this.

Platformer game with a "dash" mechanic. Unfortunately it doesnt really add anything to the genre that hasnt been done before, and I didn't really think it did anything well enough to warrant a positive review. Controls felt very anti-player, the screen is too zoomed in (want to see where you need to land before you jump out over the abyss? Nope!), and does this weird wavy-scrolly-thing (want to put your cursor in a really specific place? Also NOPE!). There were lots of other little things that I think needed polish, or an adjusted design to make effective, but these ones aren't forgiveable.

A very simple and short puzzle platformer. There's not much to it. There are puzzle elements involved, but nothing too crazy. It's got some eye-pleasing artwork, nice simple music. It's a little difficult overall, but not really too much so, at least if you're experienced with difficult platformers. Probably a lot easier to play with a controller due to the required 2D directional precision aiming required. What's in the trailer is all you get, and you can finish the game in around an hour or less. It could have probably made do with a little story to better tie its bizarre heart theme together.

Short but fun, a decent challenge at a low price. While the presentation is just ok considering the price and lenght (very basic menus, one single background, very little animation) it looks cute and the gameplay works well. The bosses are the only part i didn't like much, they were not fun but also not very hard to beat so it's not a big deal.

A very short little platformer where you dash around collecting hearts. You can dash again if you collect one while in mid-air, and that's the crux of the gameplay - chaining together jumps and dashes while trying not to die. The artstyle is cute, and while the bosses are fairly simple, I still found it fun and rewarding to beat them and their crazy machines. The game is cheap enough that I can safely say give it a try if you like the genre, and maybe even a try if you haven't played that many platformers before. It might not be the longest thing you've ever played, but I guarantee you'll enjoy this heartful adventure.

A neat platformer with well-made pixel art and a gimmicky but overall fun gameplay mechanic. It basically gives you a rechargeable air dash: you can stop midair and direct the girl where you point the cursor, normally only two times before you're forced to land, but by collecting the hearts scattered around the stages you can recharge the dash meter and fly multiple times. Levels are obviously filled with spikes, pits and chainsaws, so expect to die a lot, but the respawning process is almost instant, and the stages are usually short enough that they'll never feel too frustrating. There are also a couple of (easy) boss fights to give a bare minimum of variety. I used a controller because a laptop touchpad isn't great for this sort of things and I didn't have any problem, but I guess mouse and keyboard would still be a better choice for most people. As other have pointed out, the biggest flaws are mostly a lack of diversions (same background for the whole game, and only 2 or 3 music tracks), and the extremely short lenght (took me 67 minutes, you could even beat it and refund if you're really that sort of Powerpuff Girls villain), but considering it's cheaper than McDonalds and gives you an hour of fun instead of taking away an hour of your lifespan, I guess we can forgive that.

A not-so to very difficult reflex-based platformer depending on what type of gamer you are. I am not good at all, and so it took me about five and a half hours to complete (but most of the other reviews have about an hour on record!). There are 53 levels with 222 hearts between them (go figure), with 50 of these being straight platforming and 3 being bosses. All of these look the same and have the same music (except the bosses, which share a different track). The gameplay is well thought out and solid, but the only problems I had were the visual style and the bosses. The art itself is fantasic - I just wish there was more of it to make levels feel unique, and the bosses felt a bit repetitive; just cycle through some set motions and you attack them when they are in a 'weak spot.' Overall, I recommended - there's a lot of fun for £1.69!

Cute and short (about 1 hour of gameplay) puzzle action game, and it's not a platformer in the classical sense. It's not a very diffucult game, you have some room for errors and you don't have to time and coordinate every single dash properly. But still I couldn't call this game casual. It is challenging, but fair and that's good enough for me.
