This is a great game. The game plus bonus took 16 hours. The game has great puzzles, some very challenging. Well worth the money!

Good story, good mini-games, good HO scenes, working achievements, and if you back up the files in player and player extra, the two end-games achievements will be close in time (instead of replaying the entire bonus).

It's pretty good HOG. Bought a bunch of Dark Romance in a pack on sale and enjoyed them all so far. Did find a bug on 2nd play thru for the alternate ending (but may depend on the order of things in do them in),
you can read in the discussion for the bug, but had to do with the order was doing something and couldn't turn into a vampire cause couldn't progress. Doubt if even gets fixed
. Otherwise might try it again later. I have a lot of HOGs and will do play thrus in the future.

It has some interesting mechanics, but the graphics are dated, the story is poor, the locations are few and dull, and the entire thing rather feels like a chore instead of an entertaining game (for instance each HOG is recycled multiple times). There are much better puzzle games, even in the Dark Romance series.

This is an incredible game! Loved playing as two characters, and I thought the antagonist was menacing and creepy while also being understandable. The art is so good! It's so detailed and realistic, and the music is gorgeous. It really adds to the mysterious and haunting atmosphere of the game. The game's story is deeply moving and full of suspense, like an amazing romantic horror novel. Like I mentioned in my Steam update post, it's like you're in a novel with the characters, experiencing the events with them. The story always kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what happens next. I really cared about the main characters, so I wanted to be sure they'd be OK. The puzzles are great - they're creative, hard and fun, plus there's a hint button if you get stuck. I like the beautiful wallpapers from the game that you can save to your computer. Plus you can listen to the game's soundtrack again and again. I'm also glad that there's a bonus chapter! It adds to the story and there's more puzzles in it. Adding decorations to the castle and completing the castle by paying with bats was also creative and fun. Thank you so much for making this game! I hope the game developers continue to create games with enthusiasm and great skill. :)

After playing for 6 hours I encountered a bug that blocked me from continuing . Contacted the developers but haven't received an answer after 2 weeks . And since I've played for more than 2 hours I can't get a refund . Luckily I got it cheap !

There are several things that make this game interesting. All in all the story isn't flying above the average. Bella falls for Edward.. Wait, wrong name same plot. Except that Daddy Dracula doesn't want his son to have feeling for a mere human (how dare he), so he kidnaps the lady and leaves her alone free to roam in his castle while Ed.. Eiron enters his beloved apartment ? Bedroom ? we'll never know, but he sees the wedding dress before the wedding so I guess that's what fucked up their story entirely. Them vampire lack the basic education regarding how wedding curse work. But I know why you're here ? Who cares about the story if we have HOG and puzzles, right ? Well then you bought the right game, except that "difficulty curve" is a concept which doesn't exist for those who created that game, thanks heaven for the skip button as I'm apparently not able to make 4 identical triangles, even though YES I DID but nope, 4 identical triangles have to be made the way the game decided it would, just go suck a pacifier you noob at puzzles and dev decision. You'll face super easy puzzles at the end of the game while at the same time soon becoming bald as some of those will decide to force you to do stuff like MATH where you need to count up to 20 and I don't know why, it triggered me *skip*, and now I have to click on the right passage for that pin to go following the arrow ? Ok.. Go straight *goes straight*, go left *goes left*.. Wait, why is it considered as an end game puzzle ? To get all the achievements you must do the bonus story twice, one where you choose to stay a Human and the other where you choose to become a vampire. After all you've come through together, you can take the Human option and watch what happens as consequence ? You bad Bella. No super baby for you. So, all in all I liked it, beside the "you have to do the puzzle the way I want it to be done or you're wrong" and the Human ending you get after spending several hours saving each other. I may make a HOG Bingo for it and add it at the end of this review, as usual this is the only valid way to know if you're facing a real HOG and not something which pretends to be one.

The object hunting and puzzle solving is fun enough and I like that there's an alternative match 3 game if you absolutely can't find an item, but the story itself is abysmal. The story is insultingly short and the characters entirely one-dimensional. Obviously the man is a vampire and the woman he's marrying is an unknowing human. Then the woman goes missing and all clues point towards the vampire's dad. That's the whole story. You never learn about either character. None of the characters interact until the last cutscene. The only semi-interesting character is already dead and never gets addressed properly. I cannot stress this enough DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR ITS STORY. There is no story. It's a solid puzzle solving and object finding game, but there is no story motivating you or your characters. There is no "Dark Romance" it is vampire man rescues human woman as she attempts to escape a booby-trapped house. For a 4 hour-ish experience of just puzzles and find-object games $11 seems a bit much.

Game Information "Dark Romance: Vampire in Love" Collector's Edition is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game. The game was developed by Domini Games and published by Big Fish Games Studio. "Vampire in Love" is the first episode of "Dark Romance." Since this is a collector's edition, it comes with extra features that are not available in its counterpart; the standard edition. The Game Review Game Visuals I want to mention that the visuals in the game are nicely done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu. Game Audio I want to mention that the audio in the game is well done even if it is simplistic and somewhat repetitive. Gameplay There are four different difficulty game modes to choose from: Casual; Advanced; Hardcore and Custom. There is an interactive map in the game. It allows the player to fast travel between each location quickly. It also indicates that there are tasks that can be completed at certain locations. The interactive map is automatically given at the start of the game. There is a padlock feature that is available to lock the inventory panel in place to make it stationary. There are interactive items in the game. Some of these interactive items may require extra components before they can be interacted with. All interactive items are marked with a symbol in one of the corners. The hidden object scenes consist of the following: Shadow items, Find "X" amount, Traditional word lists, Find pair items. Some of these hidden object scenes may require little or no interactions. Most of the hidden object scenes can be replayed in the game's extra feature section. There is an optional mini-game: Match 3. The mini-game is only available during hidden object scenes. The puzzles are fairly easy to solve without having the need to skip any of them. Most of the puzzles can be replayed in the game's extra feature section as well. The two character portraits allow the player to switch between two characters in the game. There is a Castle structure. It can be decorated with various items that can be purchased with bats. The bats are scattered throughout the game for the player to find. The user interface can esthetically changed through purchasing various designs with garlic. The garlic are scattered throughout the game for the player to find as well. Since this is a collector's edition game, there is a bonus chapter, but it can be accessed only after the main story is completed. There are twenty different achievements to unlock from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that need to be completed before they can be unlocked. Miscellaneous There are extra features in the game: Bonus Chapter; Bonus Hidden Object Scenes; Bonus Puzzles; Soundtracks; Wallpapers; Concept Art and the Game's Strategy Guide. Most of these extra features can be accessed only after the entire game is completed. Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.

A Big Fish Game, with a reasonable price and ACHIEVEMENTS! Was an instant buy for me! Although I'm not a big fan of vampires but this story was an ok-ish one. A girl who is in love with a young man who promised to marry her, but because he had a small 'secret' things went upside down to them as his father Dracula kidnapped the girl to prevent this relationship, however, our main character Enron was ready to do anything for the love of his life Emily even if this means he will oppose his father and reveal his secret of being a vampire. I loved the unique mechanic of switching between the two main characters. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1166505402 The art was good, I liked how dark the locations looked and the lights in some of them, also its good to see how things change in the scene after you interact with doors or boxes. There were many well-drawn hidden object scenes (although when you visit them for the 2nd time the previous picked item still there) music was nice and relaxing and it's good they gave us an option to download it from the extra section of the game. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1166534964 The journal was good but it didn't give much information and what surprised me the game lack of 'objectives' list! Either I'm blind or the list is not really there. You can check the collectibles http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1166509950 The game is glitches free but there was a minor one which I think it was my fault during the tutorial, I clicked on the journal before they ask me to do it, and when it was the time to do the journal tutorial it was unclickable so I had to end the tutorial. The achievements are easy to get as you advance through the story except for one 'Find ten items in a hidden-object scene in ten seconds.' I tried it over and over until I realized I was dumb for not preparing the two steps objects before making the clinking chain. Pros: +Good graphics. +Fast traveling map. +Multiple hidden objects scenes (Some of them you visit twice) +Good music. +Good voice acting. (But at some of the scenes the girl's voice is lower than the music but the other characters are fine) +Three different collectibles. (One used to purchase castle upgrades, the other to purchase the interface design, and the third is just a history and facts about vampires which was quite interesting) +Steam achievements. Cons: -No objectives list. The main game does have one ending, but the bonus chapter has two, one of them satisfying and the other was surprising! So you'll have to play the bonus chapter twice in order to finish all the achievements and witness the other ending. Overall I liked this game and recommend it to everyone who likes HOGs.
