This was a good game with excellent artwork and a good story. At over 5 hours of play, the game is decent value but the butchered editing in most current HOGs always leaves me wondering how much of the game has been cut. Despite the editing, I would recommend this title.

"Dangerous Games: Illusionist" is a decent Hidden Object Game with high-quality static visuals, poor-quality animations, and an absolutely incomprehensible plot. There were several times where the animations were so crudely done as to be downright laugh-inducing. The scene with the unmasking of the villain made him look like Steve Carrell trapped in a funhouse mirror. In fact, "Dangerous Games: Steve Carrell Trapped in a Funhouse Mirror" would make much more sense then the slapdash script of this game. They kept introducing one unconnected backstory element after the other and left a half a dozen of them completely undeveloped and not integrated into the narrative. The game seems too dated to have been written by an AI randomly stringing concepts together, but the effect is the same. Still, I will recommend this game at half price or lower ($5 American) for the solid hidden object puzzles. The rest is not worth another $5.
