Great content for the price. Although I watched a lot of youtube videos for the tactical references, the structured digital book detailing about it is very welcome. Some aces are welcome, certainly I will use them if the their in-game cost is cheap enough (just tried Richard Winters costs 20, it is the same as the default AB leaders unit). Other stuffs like art book or battle logs are also welcome, I'll read them later when the time is right.

The Deluxe Edition pack doesn't add a whole lot of in-game stuff. Its pretty expensive too. I have this because i got the game in a bundle that included all the DLC's including the Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack. The Aces do sound great but if this wasn't in the bundle that i bought then i probably wouldn't have got this upgrade pack at all considering how expensive it is. It only gives a few in-game things too. Either way its not bad seeing the Aces is pretty cool even tho they are not that different from normal units. +New units. Only a handful of them and all of them are Aces. -New units don't really do anything special. -This DLC is much more expensive then the others. And the other DLCs give a lot more content. If you are going to buy the main game and the DLCs one by one then you don't need this. However if you do what i did which is buy a bundle that includes all the DLCs including this upgrade pack then yeah go for it. Otherwise there is no reason to buy this.

I bought the game a more than a year after it came out I think it came out in March 2017 I bought it in June 2018. Here is the key to pc gaming wait a year before you buy the game many kinks get worked out many people play the game and whine and things get corrected PLUS if the game can be modded [ Steel Division can and does ] then their are mods that fix many issues or enhance game play that the devs have not dealt with yet. The other option is to buy the game when it first comes out and then after a year you will notice most all of the time it is a better game but by this time you may have expierienced so much of the game that you do not want to go back and play the same scenario or campaign even though if you were playing it for the first time it would be fantastic because of all the fixes so its best to wait a year. Then expierience the game. So anyway I have only playe skirmishes against the AI and a scenario that is it so I cannot comment on anything multiplayer. I find the game enjoyable and a good strategy game. Some have complained about how units behave to me it is not a problem at all. But remember I only have played skirmish and scenarios. Because of the way this game is I think it is definitely worth buying it does a great job of combining relism with replayability and enjoyment. I think the game is made by Eugen systems working with Paradox not familiar with Eugen but now I am - Paradox puts out a lot of unique games and really understand the concept that a pc game is something to be enjoyed and to provide in depth game play whereas imo many other pc game makers simply make a game then remake the same game and its all the same. So back to the gamplay. This is a WWII game it makes sense they you cannot simply drive a tank forward even if its a tiger tank and expect to win the war the game seems great to me one must move infantry forward so they can see exactly where the enemy is then attack the enemy I pause the game a lot if would be frustrating if one could not because a lot can happen at a time. It has been said your units are pinned all the time and this and that ok When an engagement begins decide quickly what you are up against expect to be pinned if you are one squad of infantry and you are fighting another squad of infantry that is in better cover that has called in mortars on your position and has other infantry coming up to get at you. BUT BE TACTFUL I had an aa unit firing at my infantry ( DO NOT BUNCH UP YOUR INFANTRY - but keep them close enough so they can respond to each others aid ) when I was engaging enemy infantry it was out of range of my arty so I smoked the line of sight of the enem aa unit which made it move to try and get at me then I tactfully move my other infantry units to dominate the enemy infantry that was attcking me. Other time I get into contact and immediately retreat as I notice I am in an ambush if you have mortars near or arty it will take a little while to get pinned so lob mortars on the enemy and pin them first. To me the game is very tactful and better than most any other game because in other games the AI knows exactly where to get to engage you and then its very difficult to get at them wth STEEL DIVISION you can click on an enemy unit and your unit will move to a great spot PLUS when an enemy unit is seen on the map it shows up and stays shown even when you click on another unit some other stupid games you click on another unit and Wham you no longer see the enemy - ALSO use area fire for your arty this is completely realistic when you loose sight of an enemy throw some rounds in the general direction and ALSO the area where you think the enemy unit is moving to AND take into account the time it takes to get your rounds there. Use tanks the way they are suppose to be used hide them and then when you see an enemy tank coming you come out from cover and blast it. Smoke areas that may have anti tank guns laying in ambush use the LINE of sight tool it is there for a reason so you can see which areas near your tank if you move to that enables the enemy a large swath of area to see your tank. Recon and move forwar supported by tanks IN THE REAR. USE AA guns when needed to keep planes from flying all over the map. Use bounding over watch. ALSO you can have an entire unit not fire unless fired upon this is great too you can even turn off individual squads weapons for example you can turn off from firing a squads bazooka to save it or machine gun or whatever. It is easy to determine your ammo amounts which can easliy be replenished by moving up an ammo truck. On an assault on a town I had to go across some open ground so I smoked it and bombarded some areas in the rear it was Epic. I think the game is great. You do have to know something about tactical combat it is not about oh I have this huge force they are going to move forward and dominate everything. If you think it is an artillery duel it is not you can shoot IN THE AREA where the enemy arty is coming from to silence it ALSO the enemy will run out of ammo too. Spread out units. If the enemy has 4 arty units it can only basically engage 4 of your units at a time if you have taken out the Anti Tank guns you are will on your way to victory. As in WWII when it is at the point to where you have the momentum and the enemy is off balance press the attack buy don't be foolish.

The Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack DLC, Includes very little that really should already be included in the base game and can be easily found on Youtube or player videos. Its not worth the money they ask for something so minimal. The extra Aces in combat really has very little impact on gameplay other than one extra unit card that the player can use, but can easily be supplimented or surpassed with a proper battle group unit card build. Is it worth the money? No, It includes items that can easily be found elsewhere. Game is already in the abandon stage. The developers are working on Steel Division 2.
