Thanks to GG Gabriel Gaming, I found this game. This is a masterpiece. In my humble opinion, if this game was on more consoles, this would be a perfect game.

A very simple game to play but extremely addictive. You just have to beat that highest score. Just one more try ... this is the last try. Almost ... damn that was close.

I've played quite a few tetris like games and out of all of them this one is the most enjoyable and has 6 hidden achievement. With the bonus of customizable gameplay instead of single play with set rules!

A beautifully put together little gem of a game. The most interesting and relaxing game the I have played for quite a while. Congratulations to the Developer. I give this game a very high rating for emersiveness. You can take all the time that you want to place your pieces, or you can compete against your previous best time taken or high score. It's all up to you. Play with whichever game boards takes your fancy. An hour or two will pass without you even noticing it! Well put together, bug free, Interesting, good music, nice game board, easy controlls, easy to learn, loads of options and worth the price. Thumbs up - this is a good purchase if you want a relaxing, stress-free and interesting puzzle to play.

Date of completion: December 8, 2019 Review: It was a good game; nice graphics, music, sound effects, gameplay and clever Achievements. ...Some of which were TOO clever; I had to get help from someone who already got those certain achievements but the procedures were still fun to watch all the same. I think INLINE also has potential for Steam Trading Cards, too; so many shapes to choose from for card images and thus for Profile Badges, emoticons and profile backgrounds. ...A shame barely anyone plays it anymore, though.

edit: full price got reduced from $5 to $1 in october 2022, much better deal, then it went free. inline is an endless tetris-like where you have to place shapes on a grid and clear lines until you run out of space. no timer and the next 3 shapes are shown. there's a bar on top that fills up as you keep placing things and removing lines, maybe even doing streaks or combos by clearing multiple lines with one placement or one line after the other with each shape. once the bar fills, you get a skip (can't have more than 5 at a time) to use if you'd rather move on to the next piece. run out of both skips and space and it's game over. that's pretty much it, it's all random and there's only a single layout, with a so-called 'spawn zone' in the middle, where the current piece shows up. as you keep playing and level up, weirder and weirder shapes enter the picture. also, after the first run custom mode unlocks, where you can set various parameters, including grid size, starting level, leveling speed, preview queue size, unlimited skips, and so on. even the spawn zone can be removed for more space. it's still just a regular square though, so doesn't add much to the experience, and of course achievements are disabled here. controls are simple and rebindable, all you do is pick pieces up, rotate and place them, and you can do these without any keyboard input if you want. the mouse wheel also rotates (by default a/d and left/right arrows too), right click skips (by default it's w and the up arrow). conveniently, rotating is possible both while you're holding a piece and when it's in the spawn zone. as you can see, it's pretty basic, but two things make it stand out somewhat, besides the elegant minimalist audiovisual presentation. first, there are loads of settings even outside custom mode. separate volumes, resolutions, windowed mode, fps limiter, v-sync, brightness, some effect toggles and colored shapes (otherwise it's a monochrome deal), plus a few languages. only audio settings are available in the pause menu though, and sadly there's no toggle for the splash/wave effect when placing shapes, nor the slow line-clearing animation. both can be a bit annoying after a while. the game over stats screen can be hidden to look at the final situation and there are a bunch of tips to scroll through. the stats screen in the menu records your best attempts at various things and mid-level saving when you quit is also possible. can't have a regular and custom game saved at the same time though, starting a new one in either mode will erase the current game's progress if you confirm your choice. needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of customization and quality of life, even with some unfortunate omissions, but I didn't expect tons of easter eggs and other hidden stuff. they're not part of the core gameplay but really fun nonetheless, things like gameboy mode, even bigger custom grids, speedrun commands, etc. reading all the tips and looking at the achievements might help finding some of them, or you can just spoil it all by checking a guide. it's done and presented well, but there's not much meat on it besides the easter eggs, so the original 5 eur was obviously way too high a price to pay, but it got reduced permanently to around 1 eur in september 2022, which made it a good deal. if you want something similar but with a lot more content and variety (and the same price as this used to cost), check out planaris 2+.
