not terrible - worth the buy if you're into stealth-like games but don't expect incredible mechanics or graphics. a solid game. the sequel, thief simulator 2? absolute shit, don't buy

Mediocre. The systems are much simpler than they feel like they should be, and while it's supposed to be a game about figuring out how to loot buildings, the individual tasks are much more linear than I expected, and don't reward exploration or improvisation much if at all.

Bought this for 2 bucks cause I remember watching gameplay of it as a kid, does not disappoint, very fun even if you aren't following the story (but you should pay attention, it's not bad)

i'm gonna be deadly honest here this game's fun when you just like stealth in general, it's mechanics are pretty simple yet slightly tedious (which i am okay with) really, what this game needs is polishing. you can't jump fences no matter how short they are (unless they're like 2'3) which is strange, as jumping a fence is one of the most common ways for a thief to break in and the hacking, i don't even know why you should learn electronics other than for the main story because the hacking doesn't even work. trying to hack ANY security panels just doesn't work. it lets you try to hack them, and if you succeed, nothing happens. the security panel is still up and functioning (noble muffins please fix) also, if any of the houses have a pool, DO NOT JUMP INSIDE. the extremely pitiful jumppower that the thief has will guarantee you succumbing to a tazer but overall, i still enjoyed it, it's a good game and the bugs don't really bother me all that much. however, it would be WAY better if they got a fix

It's fine game, but it has some bugs and performance issues that I know 100% that it won't be fixed. And why the hell can't we hide under the bed but on the Switch I can hide under the bed and in closets? I don't understand that. It's the SAME GAME. This game needs a mobile version with a price tag on it. I won't download it for free and watch pointless ads. Anyway. Back to the game. It's a fine game. Animations need more work. Music is oh kay. 4/10 for me.

I mean it's old by now, but I remember watching some YouTubers play it a few years ago and it's about as fun as I expected. I'm a fan of stealth games, and while some of the rules don't seem to make much sense, it's still an enjoyable game when I don't have anything else I want to play or I've gotten tired of the other games I have.

The value of purchasing this game depends on the price it retails for. If the game is on sale and is available for around 1-2$, then the possible 20-30 hours of gameplay is absolutely worth it. For 10$? Hell no. The game has a lot of bugs which will probably never be addressed, along with having a repetitive gameplay loop after hitting the 10 hour mark.

fun game, but it feels like there's a bitcoin mining operation going on in the background. none of my other games run this loud, i play beamNG.drive and minecraft

SPOILER ALERT The game is very fun, for a polish person this feels like a dream come true, but the dlc part kinda ruins the game, because you cant see the cars, tractors or trains you steal

I actually had a blast playing through this game and was planning to go for 100% achievements however the ending broke and after multiple attempts I literally cant even finish the game. Cannot in good conscience recommend a game that is literally unfinishable but if the bug was ever fixed I would probably update this review.
