Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Nuetral Recommendation. This is just an average shooter. It's not really a wave shooter in the generic sense, but it does have a lot in common with stand still wave shooters. Although you can crouch and get behind objects within your play space, honestly, you seldom have to do that unless you just want to roleplay. This game is more like a mini-shooting gallery with many levels that are different, but also look eerily similar. And it's got a little bit of a puzzle factor to it, especially if you want to get S or A ratings. You do have to figure out what the best way is to kill all the enemies while getting maximum score to get S or A ratings. You would think that getting headshots as fast as possible would achieve that, but nope, that's seldom the case and time is not a factor in the score. Doing environmental kills and figuring out how to get them all is how you almost always get an A or S rating. You have this special ability that lets you see all enemies (behind walls), all hostages, and all environmental hazards. It's on a timer but you seldom need it other than to see the environmental hazards and to make sure you have all enemies accounted for at the start. Levels are quick. You go in and out and you're done in less than a minute
TWSS
and on to the next. You always start out invisible to your enemies at the start until you start shooting. Several things keep this from being as enjoyeable as possible. First, the graphics quality is average. Second, the environments are generic and forgettable. I did not finish the game (1 hour of gameplay trying to get A or S for each level), but I did go from several levels in a wine cellar to several levels of the subway environment. Neither of them used light/ shadow in an interesting way. Even the verticality (2 floors) was never used in any way that was imaginative. Thirdly, enemy AI was usually pretty dumb. I noticed they just generally ran to certain spots, regardless of what was going on and it usually wasn't the best spot for them to snipe you or to try to kill the hostage. Lastly, you always have the same guns and the same 1 ability. Game never expands on that. The only thing that kind of did progress was the environmental hazards. Unfortunately, most of the game is just finding them and trying to kill enemies with them. The guns did seem to be pretty accurate. Although, I always do better with my right hand and so I rarely used my left hand unless it was necessary (trying to kill 2 at the start). Rate 5/10. Not bad for the price, but totally forgettable. So many shooters out there, this would be right in the middle as far as good ones versus bad ones with respect to price and quality content for the price. Buy on sale only. If you like shooting galleries or a shooter with puzzle elements, then you may enjoy it more than I did. Keep in mind, I found most of the puzzles / set pieces too generic.
