A really fun little JRPG with interesting survival horror mechanics and a unique aesthetic. If you have trouble running it, there are several different fixes on the Steam forums :)

Lunch 13 is a very unqiue mix of survival horror storytelling, and tactical turn-based RPG gameplay. The graphics, textures, and art of Lunch 13 are very unqiue, and well executed for an indie game. Lunch 13 is quite short but offers two seperate modes, "The Road to Freedom" which is the more structured and story driven mode, and the second game mode, "Flesh Machine" which is more action-based but still manages to have an interesting side story. Lunch 13 is a very philosophical game that makes some very astute observations of modern life in China which I found very impressive for an indie title. Although Lunch 13's gameplay may not be exciting enough for some gamers Lunch 13 more then makes up for it in it's cerebral approach to tactical turn-based RPG combat. The approach to using modern and improvised weapons was also an interesting gameplay element. As an indie title I would give Lunch 13 a 8/10 losing two points for it's shortness and lack of replayability, but for $1.09 CDN you cannot go wrong with Lunch 13 (午餐13). A great game from quan home, and the best game indie title I have played that has completely been made in China by a Chinese person.

For a dollar, it's worth it just to see the interesting art.
Pros?
Artwork, unique but not high quality.
Unnerving atmosphere with combo of art and music, no jumpscares.
Some survival horror elements (limited ammo, health, time, etc).
Gradual backstory reveal, nothing mind blowing but it's engaging.
Choices to make, not sure if they affect the ending yet but they make you think it over for a minute.
Cons?
English translation is understandable but potentially awkward for immersion.
Only English and Chinese.
Limited HUD info and clunky menu navigation, but menus are limited anyway so it isn't too annoying (kind of helps the atmosphere too if you're into no HUD like I am).
Linear gameplay.
Overall?
Get it for a cheap survival horror roller coaster to ride for a little while.

Ignore my playtime. I played this with a workaround to start it with Locale emulator set to chinese if not starting it with a english/foreign OS make the game crash. With the workaround steam features dont seem to work. It actually have english subtitles, all the relevant text and story elements are subtitled with a few quirks. That said even with all of this tinkering this a bizarre experience worth playing even for the gruesome art alone.
At its core is an indie rpg with survival horror elements and a very unsettling surreal story. There are two separate stories with different gameplay: The first involves moral choices that determine the ending and is a survival experience with rpg elements where you have to manage your health and ammo. The second is more akin to your usual rpg maker game experience but is good nonetheless.
For me a game where the main character is a bioengineered half human half pig, had to figh strange monsters and is called Lunch13 is worth a playtrough and the dollar it cost.
