This is a good game with solid platforming and a nice difficulty curve. There are five worlds with a unique gimmick for each, excluding the first one, which not only keeps the gameplay fresh but also utilizes the game's main mechanics in clever ways. Although speedrunning doesn't interest me, the constant time pressure goes a long way to keeping the game intense, so I actually like how every level is on a timer and all that. The game is a bit short with only around 125~ levels, but they're all designed well and quality over quantity is definitely the focus here. For all these reasons, I would call Phantom Jump a good game and one worth playing. However, it is not without its flaws. Primarily, I think the 3rd and final bosses are not good. The third boss is a difficulty spike and is very poorly designed - after three stages of non-stop platforming using the phantom jump mechanic, there is suddenly a boss that basically launches projectiles at you for two minutes straight. Gone is the speedrunning, gone is the phantom jump, gone is everything you've done up until that point - all that's left is raw endurance, and it's not easy either. I would imagine that most people who play this game will drop the game on this boss, because he is lengthy and hard and not exactly very fun. For IWBTG fangame standards he may be nothing special difficulty-wise, but a player just casually interested in hard platformers will no doubt have a veryt bad time. Amongst my circles of friends, not one person enjoyed this boss, and a few dropped the game. Overall, I would say this boss should have been scrapped and been replaced with something more like the 4th boss, which actually centers around platforming like the rest of the game, using what you've learned up until that point. I mentioned the final boss as well. He is so crazy hard I expect the vast, vast majority of people to give up on him. I did. I'm more accepting of him because having a crazy hard final boss is fitting, but the fact he is once again a lengthy avoidance fight gets minus points. I don't believe a game about fast-paced platforming and optimization should have lengthy static bosses where optimization is impossible. In short, the bulk of this game is very good. The platforming is solid, the mechanics enjoyable, the level design solid, and so on. The main game is good. But the third boss is bad enough to spoil the experience for many and even cause some of them to drop the game entirely. Those that persist are rewarded with a final boss that will doubtlessly smash them to bits. If you're interested in a fun, fast-paced platformer with intense difficulty, I recommend this game. Just don't expect to beat the final boss, and be ready for an unpleasantly long difficulty spike during the third boss.

Phantom Jump is a very demanding precision platformer heavily inspired by IWBTG fangames. S-Ranks will require you to optimize your route to the last frame, and ironman challenges require more precision than those of Super Meat Boy. While fangame experience is not required it is warmly recommended.

Really fun game. It's like super meatboy. But instead of having a pretty easy time goal for each level like meatboy did with A+s, every level you get an S rank on is an accomplishment. Also, if you ever get stuck, the discord is full of a bunch of nice and helpful people that'll give you some insight on strategies you can use to beat the level or get a better time. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that enjoys precision platformers.

I bought this game on a whim to try out something new in a genre that I usually don't play all too often. I found the art work enjoyable and the environment pleasent to look at. How the timeing works is interesting, as you have to race to beat the clock or you "die". There are also the leaderboards that give you a sense of acomplishment when you complete the level faster than others. The levels were challenging but not impossible and the gameplay fun and interactive, the use of a controller is recomended. 9/10.
