Lots of options to customise guns! Vast world, many sights to see and enemies to shoot at. Nice & wholesome storytelling!

you start the game with nothing and must earn all money, mods, etc (aside from the very basic peashooter you start with) which wouldnt be so bad but everything costs A LOT of money. With the gun mechanics being the only appealing part of the game by far, this gives you a good amount of slow and incredibly boring gameplay ahead with some slim hopes in the distance of maybe seeing some actual content to make it all worth while. maybe its just me but if i want that ill just play morrowind again

Retro Review!
Most of my experience with this game is from 2017 to 2019, and here's what I thought.
This game had some serious lag issues. Unjustifiable lag, since the graphics weren't really that advanced. But for all it's problems, including the repetitive sound design and a few too many fetch quests, Badlands Roadtrip did more right than wrong. The music rocked, the gun creation system was simple yet incredibly rewarding, and the dialogue for the NPCs was always very clever and full of passion.
The devs clearly had heart and soul, and poured it into this game the best they could, but understandably didn't have the patience to perfect the final product.
I get it. Game design is hard. Things that are worth doing are hard.
I want to see the devs get some kind of redemption arc. Perhaps a sequel or a spiritual successor that addresses the issues and improves on the things done right. This game has missed potential. Why let it become wasted?

First of all, this game a actually better than it probably should be. The player models are basic, and quite scary to look at. And the graphics seem a little old.
But that doesn't make the game bad.
There is a pretty weak tutorial at the start, but once you get the controls down, you're ready to take on the world. The map is, suprisingly, a decent size. And for the time I played, I enjoyed it. It's a casual shooter with building elements. In this case, you are creating guns. You collect parts by traversing the world and finding them, and aquire money by defeating bad guys (pretty easy to understand. Alson, they baddies are robots.). There are also quests to do that you collect from NPCs, making you travel further and collect more, well, money and parts.
The game it still pretty, new, so expect there to be bugs. I bug out for no reason at times, but that could honestly be the system I'm running. The multiplay is still fresh as well, so don't expect a huge lobby (best to play with friends, because the isn't any for of matchmaking).
With more time and support, the creators can iron out the kinks, possibly add matchmaking, and really make themselves a casual shooter that won't get boring after a month. Overall score = 6/10 in the current state. It's basic, but it has room for growth and is even greater to play online, kinda like how Borderlands feels with co-op.

Interesting simple gun crafting mechanic. You can attach multiple of the same reciever, each with their own barrel, to a single grip. So you could end up with a pistol grip that has three 6 shot cylinders each with their own barrel. This can get really bizarre with up to 8 complete miniguns attached to a single grip shooting dice that explode if they roll 6 on landing, or else do damage based on their weight. It's something else.
Killing robots rewards you with money, money can be spent on building better guns. better parts are scattered in the world. super simple.
The graphics are simple and cute, the guns have a nerf/squirt gun look to them, the jokes and writing is cute and inoffensive, the mechanics are fairly forgiving and the "punishment" for dying is not frurstrating in any way. You just respawn a few hundred meters from where you died.
Multiplayer can be done peer 2 peer. You just click start saver and other players just need to enter your ip and connect, giving parents full control over the online experience. All of this makes me say this is a competent little multiplayer adventure. Very kidfriendly.
