Just very very good (I'm not playing in VR). It's old skool and it is a simple RPG (it's not "Eye of the Beholder 2" what is in mij opinion one of the best old skool RPG games ever, but Kryptkrawler gave me the same feeling). The style looks like "Dragon's Lair (3D) return to the Lair". It seems to be very simpel especially in the begining but it become better and better. For me 9 out of 10.

Game has NO MENU. There is some kind of high contrast white haze on and since as far as I know ReShade still doesn't work for VR nor Nvidia filters there is no way to turn it down. This, for me, accentuates the screen door effect to the point it's unplayable. Real shame.
I'm not going to thumb down as I can't say it's as noticeable on other units.
Does get a thumbs down for no menu though. Still it feels unfair to the Devs to thumb down for my issue since I can't say for absolute sure it isn't just my headset but no other games do it so IDK.

I really wanted to like KryptCrawler. It's an ok title with some bugs, no manual and no dev response. (I know it's a small team so I'm giving it a positive for the work they've done)
I had to abandon the game after being stuck for hours searching the annoying Agorak boss.
The interesting part was the Warcraft style graphics. (and the giant spider / Lodric)
I hope the devs liven up and send a patch.

Althougt it's only 2.7 hours I've starting to play KryptCrawler, emotions and impresion are already very high!
While crawling, have that pleasant feeling, combined with curiosity and a bit of tension. Feel yourself as a real adventurer, and that is can be called great atmosphere or strong vibes of genre (choose which definition you like most or give your own).
I wonder why Crypt Crawler game-class is long forgotten, and why there so few games of discussed style? Why only indie developers are care about it, but not developers of middle/big/AAA products? Questions, so many questions...
--------------
Anyway, KryptCrawler takes 10 Brilliant Swords from 10 possible.
Small flaws are not worth to mention. My personal respect to authors with the best wishes!

Creates a regular drawing surface, instead of VR. Doesn't capture the HMD transform, let alone display your HMD view to you. Determines what kind of input you "should use", and forces you into it, and nothing else, etc.
It doesn't work in VR, at all. Don't buy it for that.
Otherwise seems a fairly straightforward tile-based dungeon crawl. TBH, if you want that, you should buy Legend of Grimrock 1/2, or Might & Magic 6-10 (or any of them) first, though. I spent some time trying to get it working in VR, and failed in every way, with Windows MR/Samsung Odyssey, Meta Quest 2, AND Vive Pro 2. It's really single-minded with control schemes, too. You cannot gamepad in normal desktop mode -- you must KB+mouse. You cannot KB+mouse or gamepad in "VR, but not really" mode, you must use motion controls. There are no detail options, control remap options, etc. In mouse mode, you cannot
"free look" more than 45' to the left or right... The developer has implemented this title in a very base fashion.
I may bump up this review after playing more, but the brokenness of advertised VR support, tame gfx (there aren't even normalmaps, and the lighting is just.. meh. It looks similar a "HD" PS2 remake on PS3/X360), and generally bad design will almost certainly kill it for me.

Game good. Compatibility and support appalling.
Don't buy this game with a vive. Revive doesn't work. You won't get it running in 3d or VR, and the only way of playing it in 2d is with Vorpx. The game automatically starts steamVR every time launched in 2d, leading to crashes.
The devs have been told and told. Check the forums if you don't believe me. They aren't doing anything. They released this with exclusive occulus support (on steam!?!?!?!?!) and won't even let you play it on your monitor if you have a vive!

I loved playing the game !!
Some Kryptcrawler hints for tough parts of the game **SPOILERS*****
The switches "on" or triggered position, is down.
Tomb of emperor Lodric level
There is a rombhus on a wall here, you have to shoot it later after you get the bow in Lower prison to get some treasure.
After opening the door with 2 crystals, kill Lodric batting back the balls he fires with your shield.
Repeat, and eventually he dies.
Take the orb from his throne to the pedestal in the front room of that floor, touch the ball to transport (to upper prison).
In upper prison.
Door to Lower prison (with the giant hand warden) needs 2 keys, i think red and purple.
If it doesnt open, teleport back to boss king level, come back and door is now open. The bow is there somewhere.
Lower prison
Warden level, where this big skeleton hand grabs you, and a white hand icon gets printed in each square where the hand got you,
The dintel of the entrance has one hand touch already.
There are gold sparkles in the air above the squares that have a hand.
The 4th time he grabs you is back to the entrance cell, but no worries, find a way to the top left of the map with the least hands in the way.
In my game it was (Norht, East, West, South) :
2E,N,6E,2N,E,2N,W,2N,3W,N,2W,N no more hand,2W etc, just 3 hand touches and grabbed bow ok.
Go through the maze to the place with the bow and arrows.
When you pick the bow shoot the green wall diamond.
A door opens behind you with and archer, shoot him AND SHOOT A NEW ROMBO BEHIND HIM, OPENS A NEW CORRIDOR BESIDE AND EAST OF YOU WITH A RED ORB, gives you more life, permanent.
Go back whence you came, a door bars have lifted, save point and cups of gold.
The exit is in the southern part of the prison level.
South west to a new area with save point, door with a green open mouthed skull.
Planks above precipices, flying skulls that you can shoot with arrows, mortal spikes that stop when shooting rombos, grab a green gem, the last green diamond is behind and above in a wall. Press button, grab red violet orb.
Green gem goes in green open mouthed skull.
Once you get the bow go back to upper prison, shoot the diamond that is : west, south, east, north center, up in a wall beyond a hole in a corridor, lifts barrs to get some cups of gold.
In lower prison to the west, center, is the exit to "Portal Descend" level.
(The key is in a cell, south center, open door in the east).
"Portal Descend" level

In trapdoors part, directions, E,N,E,2N,W,N,2W,2N,E,N,E.
Save Point
The objective is to flip down 3 little switches in walls that raise a column with a transport portal, and 2 other columns to reach the portal.
In one part of the map there are two skeletons behind bars wich raise when you step on a slab, kill them.
Grab an electric orb and step on anothe slab in a niche, and a series of walls open on sequence, with lava below.
Shoot the diamond dimly seen before thee walls close again.
Two ways, first go west, trapdoors, W,N,E,N,2E,N,3W,N,E,N, a switch rises 1 column to portal.
The way to the east : 4 switches on a wall.
First left flip down, 2nd leave up, green flip down, right one leave up opens door, get red orb for 1 point of permanent life.
Enter, the portal, enter 2nd portal to Trials.
Three trialss
1st test
Run in random directions until you find an exit, or try to make a map.
Seems a 10x10 grid with two invisible teleports, all walls are plain, run to the center, when you see walls with protuding bricks around there is a hole in the ground, jump into it.
2nd test
Demon, Shield, Axe, Demon, Shield, Fist, Shield is written on a scroll at the table.
The four buttons on the floor don't react to stepping or shooting
From the scroll and torch, try to step on the symbol (you cant) looking in its direction and go some steps forward till you get to a torch alone. Repeat with various torches, till you get to a gate with a hole to jump into.
3rd test
Touch 2nd skull on the right, 3rd skull on the left.
Plain of the gods
Map called "???"
Trapdoors N,W,2N,EE,S,E N being your initial direction, because the map is a mirror image
When the eye appears, destroy the blue atom with the hammer.
Take the mini mobile rock platforms that appear, destroy the other 3 atoms that protect the eye.
Take mobile platform to the eye, attack it with the sword. Repeat 2 times more.
Victory !
When the gods talk, turn around to the yellow light and throw the sword into it.
The end !!

Extremely boring. I don't know what to say, I mean the game is cheap. But there is almost nothing to do. The dungeon is bare, and the combat, swinging a sword in VR is not even connected to your hand, but merely an automatic animation whenever you click. I have not found ANY way to alter any settings either. There was just nothing to pull me to play further.
