This game is great for its price point. I noticed a lot of comments said that the difficulty escalated rather quickly; however there is a difficulty slider to change how challenging the game is, if you feel like it's too hard at first.
To me, the battles were really balanced, considering that your magic attacks are really powerful and that you level up easily. Also, you get a lot of drops from battles and your magic allows you to fight using different strategies (for example: you can confuse really powerful enemies so they miss or hit themselves).
I would like to be able to use items outside of battles and I hope the devs patch the game to fix that issue. Other than that, I've enjoyed this game a I will continue to play it. It's a simple, yet charming RPG that you can enjoy without breaking the bank!

Restoration is an Anime styled RPG games which plays and feels like older RPG games such as Pokemon.
The gameplay is very smooth and fluid with a very easy to use control scheme, character movement is done via the directional keys and you interect with NPC's and objects using the enter key. The game feels like more nostalic older RPG styled games such as pokemon and the layout and gameplay is very similar, random battle encounters take place seemingly randomly as you are walking through different areas of the game such as woodlands.
The battle screen is laid out like most other RPG games and utilises turn based combat where each person takes it in turns to select an attack style and then carry out their attack, the battles continue untill either combatant(s) have reached 0 HP.
The game features a very nice soundtrack throughout which I was impressed by, during normal gameplay when you are traveling between areas the soundtrack is quite tranquil and relexing. Once a battle begins however the soundtrack takes a turn into a more agressive and upbeat tone which I really loved. The soundtrack really does add to the game overall especially during battle scenes. The limited voice acting that is featured within the game mainly in battle scenes is good however it is very limited so you ofter find that the same line of dislogue is always repeated.
The grapics are very minimal which I actually like with this style of game, the game has such a rich story that it does not need to be overshadowed by over the top graphics and animations instead favouring simple art work and simple yet smooth character animations. The character animations once in a battle are a little bit more advanced than those in regular gameplay with different movements and animations depending on which attack style you chose to use within the fight.
Overall I think this is a very fun, quirky game and I would reccomend that you give it a shot, especially at such a cheap price you really have nothing to loose, the developer clearly has a very creative mind and I look forward to seeing what they produce next.
Although this game may only apeal to a niche market it should not be overlooked by the general consumer, defiently give it a shot and you may find a new style of game that you love! People who miss the old style RPG's like pokemon are sure to love this game too as it really does give off that nostalgic feel.
Overall I would rate this game a 7/10

I played for probably an hour and a half, but for some reason, it only says like 10 minutes. Here are some of the highlights:
1) Clicked on a mushroom and could fly. No clue why.
2) Instructor in the school challenged me. She ended up having 25,000 hitpoints; I had like 600. Game Over.
3) Found an angry boy in the woods. Don't know why. Battle screen comes up, and he's now a giant tree.
4) Couldn't figure out why I was losing magic every round. Discovered the "special skills" don't use the skill points, but instead magic. In the meantime, my skills bar is at 100% and doing nothing.
5) Wanted to cure my poison status. Discovered you can't use ANY items outside of battle.
6) Hi, I'm level 10, and you're a level 1 bunny with 2000 hitpoints that can do over 300 damage per round on 50% difficulty.
7) Oh, you're an enemy party 5 levels below me, have over 2x as many hitpoints, and can spam fire, poison, confusion, sleep, and blind. Where's you're cure you a$$wipe?
8) Now I'm in a village curing "nightmares." This apparently involves schizophrenic quests and challenges. Maybe I should have bought the 10,000 fishing pole?
9) Wandering aimlessly to get to an out of the way cat because it must be important. Cat does nothing.
10) Oh look--I leveled, and all my magic and health randomly filled up this time.
1/10 but wouldn't mind flying as a mushroom through the entire game.

Had a hard time in the beginning of the game until I realized that there was a slider to change the difficulty of the game.
I liked the anime art stylish style and the well thought out magic spells and attack options. Only thing I can nag about was that sometimes the voice line of a character during the fight gets canceled mid sentence and instead begins another one, because they are being attacked again. It's rather funny though.
If you like RPGs you will have fun for sure!

A cute little, short game. Story is a little weird, but if you like turn-based RPGs, then you will like this game.

[b]A cute rpg game in anime-style theme that can fill your heart with a nice story that reminds me old school games.[b]
I love rpg especially the jrpg style but often i think there are too many clones from rpg maker, always too similar or just a bunch of prepurchased assets that lack of any interesting feature. I must say this game is a blow of refreshing air for his original style and the details that you will find playing it.
This is really a game made with love and attention.not just another bunch of assets combined. I really liked the story and the gameplay but i must say also, the product is not perfect, there is some flaw that maybe devs should fix with some patch.
Graphic
Really really cute anime style graphic, everything seems nice with original and pretty hand-drawn characters. Monsters too are pretty cute and sometimes i have felt bad with myself for killing them. Backgrounds and locations are pretty detailed. Nothing like an AAA title, i want to be clear, but everything is good and detailed for a low-cost indie rpg.
Music
The soundtrack is very simple but nice, sometimes i think it's too much repetitive, by the way nothing bad . It's pretty enjoyable and i liked the music. Themes seem to be good with any situation, so i must say everthing is simple and good.
Characters' lines are fully voiced and i really liked this aspect. It proves so much attention to details. The voices are good even if this is not a AAA game with real actors.
Gameplay
Basically, it's a jrpg where you must save the villagers' souls from the darkness and you must fight monsters to accomplish your task. The gameplay, as intended for a jrpg, is pretty standard and simple. So if you're looking for an old school based rpg this is the product for you.
Ate the beginning there is a really simple tutorial to introduce you to the classical standars rpg mechanics, maybe it would have been good to write some other tips for new players.
There is a nice fishing minigame but maybe devs can add something else to entertain more the players.
Following the main story, you and your sibling must save the villagers' souls and you must fight against various monsters during the campaign.I must say, there is some flaw with the balance gameplay, like the stats of some monster and the shop prices. Sometimes i have found monsters too much strong and maybe i didn't have a clue if i crossed in a over-leveled zone or not. I think that some adjustement is needed to improve the game ,in this aspect.
Anyway, the game is not much long and you could finishit in a 3-4 hour gameplay ,if you like to play and explore every single detail.
I liked the fishing minigame and i think devs can add some other minigame to keep enjoyable the experience.
If you are looking for a low-cost and cute rpg with simple mechanic this is absolutely a must-buy.

Game style is good, Doesnt take long to get used to. it has alot of potential.
It shows capacity that the developer has skills in the future that will develop.
It may be short. But it may also be fun.
for the price bein its not bad.
The detail of the monsters are hillarious and good made, so you could get a bit excited for the next battle thinking wtf is going to happned next. :P
Me personal I liked the fighting mechanic.
Give it a shot =D
Glad i beaten the boss..

Pros:
Artstyle and VA, I guess...
Cons:
Low res(800x600), weird font.
By all means, I'd try it for free and test the hell out of it.
But I've paid money for it because of reasons and refunded in no time at all.
"Those damn NPCs!!" part was nice. But after you saved (almost) whole village if you choose wrong you STILL have to fight to get told "twasnt all of em, save more often m8"
Gee, thanks but no thanks. I'm not going thru numerous "hold A to win" fights again.
It doesn't even feel like finished product desu
So yeah... Better luck next time.

Restoration is a big step up from Solenars Edge Rebirth, Not only does the game not look like an rpgmaker game, but the scenery and the monsters, and even the characters all look original!
In speaking of characters, they have a very cute appearance which fits well with the story of the game ("ableit it's a bedtime story" - said Restorations developer Sora Yukino) The characters also have unique voices which fits with the anime style of the game! One thing I would change is how much currency you can obtain from monsters, armor and weapons in this particular game are very expensive, and while fishing is fun, it's still difficult to obtain enough money for the weapons you need to finish the game!
Overall an 7.5/10! I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a cute artsy, short rpg game, with a spin on different rpg type elements!
