Why do I keep giving Retro Army money?
Great presentation as always, very weak gameplay - just memorize and keep re-running the same levels until you perfect them. NTY.

O principal ponto forte do game seria a diversão!
Recomendo muito!

You run around with this dude collecting apples and keys and avoiding enemies inside of dungeons. It isnt a bad game for a price of a dollar however it wasnt fun enough to continue playing it. It is playable though. I didnt hate it.

The barbarian run animation alone is worth the positive review. Fun game and intend to play more.

I enjoy the other Retro Army games quite a bit and definitely recommend people check out Super Trench Attack! However, this game, despite being dirt cheap, didn't fill me with a ton of joy. It works, plays okay, looks okay, and is exactly what it is described as. However, the inventory isn't explained as well as it could and the levels are a repetitive slog. This is made all the more annoying on Normal and Hard difficulties since collecting apples, think pellets in Pacman, also increases a poison meter for your selected character. What that means is that if you are aiming for 100% on Achievements, you will likely have your characters die off, not be able to revive them, and have to wipe the save and start all over again. I played on Normal and that happened to me in the last dungeon/gym. So I wiped my save and started on Easy where the poison meter is absent. Was able to get 3 stars on all dungeons that I could find, yet there didn't seem to be an ending, even a cut to credits, that I could find. Very glad I didn't waste more time trying to beat the game entirely on Normal or Hard. Not a terrible game, but not one that I'd recommend.

TL;DR 3 buff bois with no gym membership out of 10
Pros

Pixelated graphics are always welcome

Able to realize its own inadequacies ( at least I hope it was self aware humor)
Cons

Hit box detection

Boring gameplay (sorry but that’s being honest)

Possible seizure alert in the opening screen
Impressions of the game
The biggest reason I’m giving this game such a low score is because of its premise. I initially was intrigued by a game that was a “dungeon” esq. game with no combat however I quickly found out that the two didn’t mix as well as I thought. I get that one of its biggest marketing points was just this (see game description) however, if that is the case then the gameplay must feel tight and the hit detection must be nearly perfect. Neither of these two criteria were met. Often times I felt my character was sliding rather than running. Im sure there is fun to be had here for some but, I can definitely say that it is not my forte. If you are still interested I would highly recommend getting it when it is dirt cheap only.

Simple but fun! It has a solid challenge curve that builds up as you play. A lot of room to develop your skill to get good at this and max your ranking and unlock everything.

So... Dungeon Marathon, neat.
Honestly this is probably one of my least favorite Retro Army games... and yet I enjoy keeping it as part of my collection.
I would call this a speed run game except it isn't, it's more of a...run around and collect apples while avoiding enemies maze game. Like Pac Man except you're playing probably the most obliviously stupid fantasy heroes of the land. I get my good brand of juvenile humor I expect from Retro Army but like any Retro Army game I also get the seeping dark undertones that add a twist to the gameplay.
The freaking apples.
Not really much of a spoiler, but I would leave you to enjoy the realization that the apples from the mysterious gender indeterminate "gym" owner are also poisonous and will eventually kill you when your "poison meter" reaches 100%. The good news is you can buy a detox potion...for 1000G which you'll only get by being good at eating Apples...see the dilemma?
And so that's what this game comes down to, managing 4 runners while trying to beat the game and not completely screw yourself in the process. The control and collisions are a little weird sometimes but you can get quickly used to it.
A decent time waster if nothing else.

kinda like... Pacman, but looks like a pixely Diablo for the c64..
I own all of Retro Army's games and this is another solid budget title.
Recommended for anyone wanting to run around like a jackass, eating toxic apples in murky dungeons.
