SoulFrost Reviews

This is a short but hard minimalistic scroll shooter where you race against doing too many actions to keep more energy, without which you won't make it to the end. Lightweight narrative art-game.

-short -overpriced -no gameplay -op boss (everything else won't really hurt you or can easily be dodged +creative health is replaced by energy which you can lose by getting hit, you can get more energy by replaying levels. in short, dont get this game, its free up until the end where you need to spam click as hard as you can.

I got this game with a 75% discount coupon and finished it in less than half an hour. Even though I enjoyed every second, I can't recommend a €2,39 game that lasts 30 minutes.

Let me start off by saying, I only bought this game for a dollar. Got a 75% off coupon for this game only upon completing the goat sim badge so I was like "hey.. Oh what the heck. I'll download it" This game.... It's interesting to say the least. Very simplistic player v computer shooter game. You're venturing up a mountain to defeat the snow boss guys? Unlike some other shooter games, you do not regenerate health or have lives. You have the same amount of health and >countless< lives. For example, starting from the beginning you have 100 health and 100 energy. It takes energy to fly and shoot, health when you get shot or hit an icicle. Once you complete level one, you move on to two. Whatever your health/energy was in the previous level, is what you start with in the next level. You can play levels again and again and it will save your best health/energy stats to use on the following level. If you start a level with low af health/energy, you're basically screwed. You die? you start that level over, same stats. As far as I know, there isn't a way to go back to the level select and at this point if you can't pass, you just have to exit the game. All in all, its a pretty decent game. Worth 3.99? Maybe not... Worth the 1.00 I paid? Yes.

Disclaimer: I accuired this game as a result of the Kolenka Games '17 Bundle, so I (technically) did not pay full price for it. An interesting take on shooting and action, but not worth the $3 they're asking for it. At roughly a half hour in legnth, it is too short, even for that price, and any ideas it brings to the table are not explored very well. The dialogue is delightfully incoherent, however, and is almost worth playing the game through on its own. It isn't bad, I just can't reccomend it.
