(Video version of the below review.) https://youtu.be/U0FmAxWBoJgGenetic Disaster is a fun dungeon crawling rouge lite not dissimilar to Enter the Gungeon. The game touts itself as more of an action party game, but especially when playing solo it really feels much more in common to the aforementioned title. I enjoyed my time with the game even more then expected, as I felt that this genera has been pretty heavy handed in its offerings the last few years. What surprised me here was just how fun the game was to play, and while a bit easier than some of the other heavy weights in the same vein as this one, I found its pace and action to be more relaxing and enjoyable. I would really like to see a mini boss character on the boss "stage" of each level, but the game is still in early access so I am happy to wait and see what direction the game evolves toward. The core gameplay is solid though, and offers the perfect platform for forward progression and refinement. I love all 4 of the characters on display and the guns really steal the show with each one I've found so far being a real blast to play with. The levels can start to feel a bit repetitive, but that is a mainstay of this style of game and at least they are well drawn and fun to look at. Great job devs and keep up the good work!

At the time of this review, there is no options menu and you cannot rebind any keys.
"It's ok" you think to yourself. "The developers wouldn't do anything too crazy, like make the "use" key E in a WASD game." Except, they did. Did you want to move to the right while picking something up? TOO BAD, KID.
I'm willing to revisit this game on sale for $10 or less once it has, at the very least...an options menu...Until then, no go.

I have loads of fun playing Genetic Disaster in co-op.
Characters are great and there is a tremendous amount of weapons. The game is not finished yet, some parts like audio require a bit more love, but overall it's already pretty polished.
It's a fun couch game, I recommend it.

Genetic Disaster is a great couch game.
Especially if you're looking for a game to spend time cooperating (or betraying) your friends.
The different characters are well rounded with each their specificities.
There are a lot of cool weapons to discover and play with.
I didn't encounter any game breaking bugs tho I did have a few minor audio issues.
I would recommend this game if you're looking to have fun with your friends !

This game is a disaster.
Genetic Mutations are random drops in the game and I never encountered even 1 of them in over 2 hours of play. Maybe should have made it guaranteed to get one during the first run or something?
Spinning robot bird thing charges into you and stuns both you and itself. You have to mash E on the keyboard or A on the controller to break the stun. Sometimes the bird doesn't stun itself and you just get perma stunned until you die...
Rooms lock when you enter a boss room or various challenge rooms. Sometimes these rooms fail to register that they have been completed and you get locked in and have to quit the game...

Should be early access. Unfinished, buggy, crashes every other time you connect with friends. Unbalanced, one really good character. Totally unsure how to even beat the first boss :D. Enjoyed playing until we got locked out of end of level door. Much like enter the gungeon. Look forward to a complete game someday.

Not fun for one. And two how do you release a game and not even have an options menu, except for "coming soon".
This is defnitely not even close to being finished.
