I found this to be a somewhat simple but delightful HOG.

Well-crafted HOPA with lots to do and a good variety of puzzles. This is the second game in the series, and picks up several years after the first game: the protagonist is the young scientist's fiancee, instead of his mother (who does appear in the game). There are lots of traditional HO scenes of the word list type. If you're looking for a well-paced game with a historical, early sci-fi setting (late 1920s), this will appeal. The game is not original to wide screen, but the adaptation is better than most.
Pros:
- nice art
- good puzzles (range from easy to some challenge; most moderate)
- lots of HO scenes (traditional with some "extra step" objects)
- follows the characters of the first game
- music is appropriate, although it does loop
- three choices of difficulty (I found Advanced was the right combination for "casual with some challenge")
- ** excellent re-use of items **
- voice acting is very limited, but good
- good length with a decent bonus chapter that resolves a sub-plot
Cons:
- very limited voice acting; no voice for protagonist (this may be a plus for you)
- HO scenes are re-visited (if this bothers you)
- some distortion on wide screen, mostly minor
- linear plot (for me this was saved by the range of locations and actions within an area, but there is very little to the story)
Note: no Steam achievements, but the in-game achievements are fun to try for; the collectables are easy to moderately easy to find, but there are several per scene in the main game
Overall: Recommended for any fan of HOPA games, but especially for those who enjoy more traditional HO scenes. The item re-use and variety of puzzles are definite selling points. This game is a good length, though my hours on record are higher than actual play time.
