My friend recommended me this game, and after 5 hours played I'm already blown away by the sheer addictivity of the game.
I have been playing alot of Binding of Isaac and was looking for another roguelike and this is fantastic!
Despite a quite high difficulty level, it just makes you want to go in again, right after a run.
Definitely worth the 15 euros, and hope this game will make it big!

Another small dev project abandoned unfinished with a forum full of dev promises for future content and additions that were not delivered. Too bad, because it definitely gives that feel that it could have been pretty cool with more made of it.
Game has some charm in its weird, drifty movement and slow rotating to fire, but the fact that you and enemies both all have trouble moving and aiming, makes the game more like someone armed a bunch of balloons. Maps are narrow corridors, too, so enemies tend to clump up comically, bumping around shooting each other and generally not giving the impression of the "intelligent" enemies the store page promises.
There are a lot of weapons, and they can be fun and novel to play with, and seem to have a good weight and impact to them. You also have several ships and pilots to pick from, which play noticeably differently.
Ultimately, though, it feels like a novelty that needed to find direction beyond narrow hallways full of bumping enemies, and I'd only recommend it to people wanting something odd who are notably tolerant of its failings and prepared for its sluggish play. There are subtleties and scope for skillful play.
If you play on controller, make sure to disable "show controller crosshair" which rather than merely showing a crosshair like it says, entirely changes the way you aim into an awful RS-cursor-pushing style that feels terrible. Unfortunate that you can't just have the crosshair and normal play, because your ship turns so slowly and wobbles back and forth so much that it really helps being able to see the point it's actually chasing. The ship already has a clearly drawn aim-line, so you don't need a crosshair for that. If you want crosshair and controller, you can do that with Steam Input, but the game's controller handling is pretty broken so you have to do everything on the kbm interface and manually remove your controller in the config every time you start the game.

I like the game, but this is obviously a product of someone who doesn't have a huge pool of experience.
The game is fun, weapons are awesome and the controls are sluggish but fitting. Once you play for a bit you understand why different turn speeds and such are important. Basically, the foundation and combat for the game is great.
HOWEVER, and this is why I would NOT recommend the game as it is, it was not utilized well. First off, there is no tutorial. If anybody can tell me what the hell DATA is, feel free to inform. Upgrades seem to reset every level for some reason, and when you reach your third level, MASSIVE difficulty spike. Basically goes from a regular shooter with a few bosses per level to full boss rush within one level transition. Flashbangs, trap black holes, and tracker missiles (which have icons on them, implying you can either dodge or neutralize these missiles but you would be mistaken) are suddenly bombarding you constantly. Get to level three and if you're really unlucky, you'll have died before the screen finally faded off of white. Or you'll get trapped in three black holes and get blasted to hell with tracker missiles. The levels are also really constricted. May be by design but I personally don't like it.
Overall, I think this game would benefit heavily from outsourced play testing BEFORE updates rolled out, even though I think this game is entirely finished and won't be updated further. Either way, as of now I think you have better options out there. Keep looking.

Pion is an extremely entertaining experience to play.
Fast-paced gameplay with a super smooth flow, that not only looks great but also provides some seriously butt-clenching moments!
All the weapons feel good to fire, and is well matched with their soundeffects.
The enemies are nicely varied and gives you a nice challenge!
Will definitely keep playing this as the replayability is fun and easy.
Can't wait for more content!!
Bravo to the creator, amazing solo-work!!
