The Kyoto Winds Treasure Box DLC for Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds delivers the same kind of additional content that is also available for Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms. You get to play six new, albeit very short and uneventful side stories of Saito, Heisuke, Harada, Nagakura, Yamazaki, and Iba this time. And if I'm saying short, I mean really short. Each story approximately contains five minutes worth of reading, which makes about thirty minutes of additional content in total.

Is this DLC necessary? No. Will you miss something if you don't purchase it? No. Should you play it if you're a huge fan of Hakuoki? Definitely. The DLC is kind of overpriced without discount, but don't waste the opportunity if you can grab it bundled with the main game.

DLS is completed in 30 minutes of active reading + if you listen to what the characters say. There is no fanservice in the main game. And this DLS just gives a sense of the samurai's interest in GG.
If I strongly recommend the main game, then DLS feels like second-rate fan fiction.

Really short stories of Hachiro Iba, Susumu Yamazaki, Shinpachi Nagakura, Heisuke Toudou and Sanoksuke Harada.
Each are between 2 and 5 minutes so you have a total of about 15 minute playtime.
This DLC DOESN'T contain any more OCG's, videos, music, achievements or choices.
But the content is kinda sweet and made me smile, so as a hakuoki fan I enjoyed that little extra.
If you love the main game, I highly recommend getting this. <3

Sure, the stories are short and uneventful. But I love slice of life type of games and anime, so it was totally fine for me. But even during those couple of minutes I managed to feel that atmosphere again. There're no CGs or choices in this dlc but what is the most important for me I could hear one of my most favourite characters again! Voice actors are really awesome in Hakuoki! <3 And I truly enjoyed those tiny episodes, they revealed smth essential in all those chars, I recollected the main game, thought that I should replay it some time again. I was constantly grinning while playing. I'd be more than happy to buy such dlc for all my fav games I played some time ago to refresh all those emotions. I'm grateful for this experience. Plus for my country the price is low enough. So, don't expect much or anything new and vital for the story but I'd recommend this dlc for Hakuoki fans!

I mean, it's $3 for 6 EXTREMELY short stories. They have voice acting. They don't contribute anything to the actual story. And you effectively get nothing but the two-minute scenes dealing with only six of the twelve LIs. It's not a bad purchase, but it can easily be overlooked and you wouldn't miss anything at all by not buying it. I do not feel like I've gained or lost anything with this purchase.

As other reviewers have mentioned, there are six stories about 2 minutes long each. That's a pitifully small amount of content for the price. The content itself was wholly underwhelming. Of course the stories don't really contribute to anything; they are simple vignettes of everyday life with a hint of possible romance. But the dialogue itself is stale, poorly translated, and pretty much a rehash of personality traits we already know through much better storytelling in the base game. If you're desperate to hear a characters voice one last time, then I suppose you can get this for a couple bucks, but don't expect much.

If the game's on sale, you might as well purchase this along as well. If not, then don't bother. Screenshots from the store page in this DLC are misleading, as they are from the main game. Actual content consists of six very short stories, and by short I mean "2 minutes per story" without additional CG. You've got money to throw away? Purchase OST or, heck, anything else.

The DLC is fine, it's a good price for six stories and if you bought Kyoto Winds it's probably because you're a Hakuoki collector/completionist anyway.
However, the images on this store page (at least when I bought this) arent accurate, they're from the base game not the DLC. This means that there isn't any Hijikata or Saito content in this DLC, only Saito, Harada, and Toudou from the main game and Shinpachi, Iba, and Yamazaki from the extended game.
Anyway, this is worth it in my opinion. To be honest, I would have preferred more Kazama content (even if he is a 'secret' character, he's still one of the six original romances) but these side stories are a nice companion to the main game and fit in pretty well.
TL:DNR - You bought ANOTHER Hakuoki game, you may as well buy the DLC.
