well that was actual shit. This is one of those Boom Shoots that learns fuck all from its far more fun predecessors. It wants so desperately to be a horny Blake Stone but while Blake Stone was a revolutionary if clunky game that had the misfortune of coming out a week before Doom, this game is just an unfun 28 minute slog that will feel like 28 hours. Just like in Blake Stone the ammo is universal and switching to the weapon you want ammo for will make that weapons ammo go up, a shit design choice in Wolf 3d and Blake Stone and even worse here, because the good weapons don't use enough ammo to justify not always using them after getting them. Oh, and No Mini Map in this idiot maze game so you run in circles and extend the abysmally short game time. And Don't Forget, this is one of those stupid games where you have to go into your files and fuck around with the compatibility settings just to make it function. Actual Garbage.

The art is nice and they've managed to create some decent atmosphere for such a simple game, but the RGM engine is extremely janky, and the game is only about five levels long and feels more like a demo than anything.

This game is so bad the mouse doesnt move unless you use the entire mousepad all so you can turn 15 degrees and die anyways. Genuinely why would anyone buy this game I dont recommend this game to anyone who currently has a brain.

After dealing with the shitty controls i managed to get to state 4 or 5, just to realize that the remaining part of the game were just tunnels with random monsters to kill no labrint or anything at all.
Just 5 more stages that were just staright line walking killing random shit
Once completing this i get what appears to be a strating "cutscene" wich is basically a chat between 2 people, only 2 messages tho. It says things that makes no sense unless i guess they want us to read a comic or ask wtf is going in in the forum. Whatever it is it feels like the game was just starting because they said something about someone is looking for someone else. But nope, press any key and you go back to main menu, end of the "shareware" i guess?
Game looked like it could be a lot more than this but i guess they asumed nobody was gonna endure dealign with those shitty controls to reach the end just to realize the game wasn't ever finished or at least it doesn't looks like finished.
So, besides the lazy map design of the late lvls and the confusing 2 paragraphs story there are other game breaking issues that was cancer
Like ignoring thie shitty controls wich makes you run really fast and have massive sensitivity, you have this crap NES rule "if it's not in your screen it doesn't exists".
This is literally like that, if an enemy is not on front of you then they no longer exist, just like in nes games where you shoot at something that's not showing in your scree but you know it is there, but still the damage won't be registered.
In this game this translates to:
-You shoot and the door closes, then your bullet won't deal damage to anything behind it
-You shoot and quickly take cover, again you wasting ammo it deals 0 damage to enemies.
Doors closed about 2 seconds after being opened, so the only way to kill something is by ltierally dashing into them firing your strongest weapon.
Talking about weapons all weapons seem to be exactly the same but they have bigger max ammo, except for the sniper thing that you won't hit anyone unless you're at melee distance because high sensitivty and monsters literally dissapear if they're too faar away from you.
Then you have a slow explossive thing or whatever, wich is too slow and the only way to hurt someone with it is by running into them because again if you shoot and take cover the projectile will deal 0 damage, and if you want to be expossed to shoot you're better using anything else.
BTW enemy bullets are hitscan althought you see projectiles coming to you, it doens't maters if you dodge, you always get hit anyways even if you're behind a wall
Added to this shit there is this issue in wich if you go to next stage sometimes you press any arrow and it sends you to start menu, so you better save before touching every "next stage" thing.

I thought this game might be interesting, but turns out it's completely unplayable. For me, regardless of how I move my mouse, I can only turn right. The sensitivity is also way to high to be playable, I really cannot recommend.
EDIT: I've discovered that setting my screen resolution to 1360 x 768 makes the game playable. This doesn't change my recommendation though as it is still incredible clunky and difficult to play. There is no sort of in-game map either, so getting lost happens surprisingly often, especially since everywhere looks very similar.

It’s clear to me from many of the discussion threads and negative reviews that this game has had some major issues over the years, but after an indeterminate amount of patches, the game now feels pretty good. It still has a few quirks left over from the original Wolf3D engine, but it costs a dollar and frequently goes on sale. Good for players who are looking for more of that raycast-type aesthetic, rather than a more polished ZDOOM experience.

This suffers from the same issue a lot of these OG Doom-esque games seem to have, which is terrible controls. The arrow keys or mouse can be used to move the camera, both of which move rather slow by default and there is no sensitivity setting. The mouse movement has a lot of issues. One of them being it's very choppy due to sometimes ignoring your input if you don't move your mouse perfectly horizontally.
From what I did see before I gave up due to the controls wasn't too bad. The soundtrack and sprites are decent. I have no complaints about difficulty or level design really, although I only made it to the end of level 2. The game just shoots itself in the foot with the controls. Correction - it shoots its entire leg off and then decides to shoot the other one off as well.

The only reason i got this game was cause I had a coupon and I actually can't play it, mouse doesn't work, its like i am playing with 1.000.000 sensivity and even if i use my laptop's click the screen moves 30 degrees to the right for no reason...

Bad right out the gate. Had a feeling this was gonna be alright, but I was wrong. I don't normally post reviews, but man, this was unpleasant. The game only contains 7 stages, but I quit midway through level 4 cause that's when the game really started tearing me a new one. Started up the game, went to the options, and realized that there were only 3 bars to adjust the main menu music, game sound effects, and game music. So after accepting the "chenges", getting back to the main menu, and starting a new game, you'll notice very quickly how bad the movement is, how bad the controls are, how ugly the graphics are, and how bad the gunplay is. This game tries to replicate the control of Wolfenstein 3D, but does it very poorly. You move using the WASD keys. You move in a start/stop way where there's no momentum to build up your movement or to come to a stop, similar to Wolfenstein, but here, it's pretty problematic as you'll notice as you play. You shoot with left click and control your aim using the mouse (and the left and right arrow keys for whatever reason). There's no vertical aim control, only horizontal, again, like Wolfenstein, but using the mouse to aim in a Wolfenstein play style feels very jankey. After getting acquainted with all that, you move on to start killing bad guys. While exploring the first corridor, you notice how unpleasant everything looks. It's so bad that I started getting a headache before i was even finished with the second level. Most of the walls are an ugly mesh of blacks, purples, and oranges that kinda seem to blend together and they look worse the farther away you are from them, and because they all seem to jut outward, it makes it hard to notice which ones have doors in between them. Some of them have doors in between, but often they're either dead ends, or other walls of blue laser fields that i have no clue how to open or if you can even open them at all. You find out later some red laser fields can be opened by eliminating enemies, so there's that i suppose. The enemies themselves seem to constantly be hurting you whenever you're in the same room as them and it always seems unavoidable. Also the poor draw distance makes it really hard to notice where they are at times, so that's always fun. The draw distance isn't all dark as shown in the preview video (the game would probably be unbeatable if that were the case), but it's still god awful. Then there's the gunplay. It doesn't seem so bad at first, but the more you play the game, the more that it feels like you have to stand still to actually hit your target, since the bullets from all the weapons don't make instant contact with the enemies. I'd understand that for something like the rocket launcher, but it's even the case for the starting pistol. Combine the start/stop movement, janky mouse aim control, and slow bullets, and you have a recipe for gameplay i'd call the complete opposite of something fun. Guess I shouldn't expect that much from an FPS that only costs a dollar. You get what you pay for I suppose.
