Probably the Best steam locomotive in the TS I played ever. Even considering that perfect graphics and textures are from 2012, the overall feeling and experience is satisfied much more, than in others I played. Even taking in account that they represent different steam locomotive classes (passenger) and have different sizes of boiler and driving wheels, they don't give a feeling that you drive a steam locomotive just because here the most complicated part is starting, not reaching the line speed. The driving is not that complicated as in Pannier Class, but in the same time provide you a challenge. It's the second locomotive from Classics (I do not have Pro series, so I can't compare them) I ever played that really required me to play with the throttle and cutoff positions. Brakes aren't that rigid as in British ones but still need to pay attention when choosing the train brake pipe pressure (the american diesel locos are much more easier, but have a brake lag as a downside).
Unfortunately there not that many built-in scenarios available to drive this locomotive, probably only the workshop and community ones.

It's pretty good. It's quite a nice locomotive if you asked me. The whistle is alright, but sounds more like it's on a loop. The Chuffing sounds are pretty good, and for an old DLC, it's quite extraordinary. The cylinder cocks sound is alright, but needs room for improvement. The price has been dropped ever since it's initial release, which I say is a good move by DTG.

Now, I understand that this is a relatively cheap Addon. But that is besides the point, I have been disappointed with this engine.
Firstly when you go to choose your locomotive, it will not appear as there are no premade train presets to choose from. You have to manually set up a custom preset in order for it to appear.
Secondly, the Whistle is of poor audio quality and you cannot adjust the length of each quil, symbolising almost to no effort given in that regard.
Third, would be the interior, I feel like if I were to touch any of those polygons, I'd prick myself.
Suffice to say, there are addons on the Trainz platform that are of better quality.
But, on a positive note, the exterior is relatively OK, visual-wise.
I strongly recommend getting this only if it is on special, or if you just want as many American steam locomotives as you can get (There isn't many).

Good since it's the only K4 available, but developers really need to make a new, updated more detailed version of this classic loco. This one has a big issue with reflectivity (very little) even for a dull surface which makes all detail disappear. I wish there was a version with slightly brighter tones so it wasn't a big loco shaped blob most of the time.

Completely Useless. This is meant to represent the PRR's best known express passenger loco but performs more like a shunter/switcher or light freight engine than an express passenger machine. It's steaming is appalling, it's pulling power beaten much much smaller engines and it has a pathetic top speed of 30mph with 6 cars. It is frankly an insult to pretty much every Pennsy steam fan. I've opened the comments on this review so please if you got this working tell me how to get it to a passenger speed cause from what I've seen it can't.

One thing that you usually almost never see in this game is PRR content. This is one of the best loco dlcs to get if you have Horseshoe Curve. While it doesn't really come with any rollingstock, it does come with an awesome locomotive that we can all agree is pretty rare to see DTG recreate properly and almost realistically. This dlc is really worth every penny.

This is a very nice locomotive. I use it a lot on the Norfolk Southern Coal Route. I have more complex, ultra advanced steam locomotives (FEF-3, Consolidation from Smokebox, highly recommended works of art) but when I don't want to work hard at things, I go for this one. This is very nicely done. Just open the window, hang your head out (if you have TrackIR) and relax. It's like train zen. I can't believe it's on sale this cheap. It's also very photogenic and screenshots of this locomotive make great desktop wallpaper, especially when given the vintage treatment in your favorite art program. Highly recommended!

It is under $4 when it is on sale, so for that price, it is pretty decent. The cab is atrocious, but the exterior look is acceptable and the sounds are fine. It is also one of the few American steam locomotives available for the game and is much better quality than the Big Boy and Challenger, which can be bought for a similar price on sale.

I reccomend buying the K4 as soon as you get Horseshoe Curve. Looking at it alone looks amazing, but having it is even cooler. This marvel of the Pennsy is just a fine and overall nice loco to have in game, whereever you run it. My only problem is that it seems underpowered (or its just me) and that it doesnt come with anything else. Im not saying thats a bad thing, but it would be cool to see something else with it. The sounds/ looks are amazing and in conjuction with the map, its amazing and historical.
