Not so virtuoso!
Well, for a HoG this game has some good aspects and some, well let's say let downs. Storywise it's pretty standard, not too shaby though. The sound and the artworks are at times captivating, and more or less "creepy"... if you want to say so. The riddles are mostly simple to easy, could have been harder at times. The HoG-Scenes are well rendered, and offer easy challenges. The final is kind of frustrating, and yet offers some insight to the next chapter in the game. The bonus chapter is tightly bound to the main game, since the ending was so utterly frustrating.
Does that make for a good game? Maybe, I am not so sure about it. Yes it was entertaining for the time, I played it through in less than 10 hours, although I took a lot of breaks... and even went shopping once to a nearby grocer, that is the good side effect of a HoG, you can play it while you are working your chores too... But how about recommendation?
And that is where I am torn... The game is at 9,99 which is for a game of about four to six hours a bit expensive, captivating graphics and sound aside, there is a time value threshold that says it's overtaxed. In my old Rating System this would give the game a fat minus because (Formula: Cost/Netto Gametime => 1,5) a bit too expensive, and being a HoG, furthermore without achievements which people at times like to collect... it has no replayability. Wait till the game goes down during sales, and a price around five bucks.
Yet that is no reason to give the game not a recommendation. Just wait for it, to get it cheap if you are interested in the genre.

A little old, but visually good and the plot is entertaining. The lack of a map is a bit frustrating at times.

Good game that still plays well today. Puzzles aren't too difficult. HO scenes can be a challenge on high resolution screens but are definitely doable. Game is about 4 hours long (I played through twice).

Game Visuals
I want to mention that the visuals in the game are nicely done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu.
Game Audio
I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well.
Gameplay
There are two different difficulty game modes to choose from: Regular and Expert.
The notebook keeps track of progression in the game. Such as story events and clues.
There is no map in the game. The player has to remember where to go in the game.
There is no padlock feature that is available to lock the inventory panel in place to make it stationary.
The hidden object scenes consist of the following: Traditional word list. Some of these hidden object scenes may require little or no interactions.
The puzzles are fairly easy to solve without having the need to skip any of them.
Since this is a collector's edition, there is a bonus chapter, but it can be accessed only after the main story is completed.
Miscellaneous
There are extra features in the game: Bonus Chapter; Soundtracks; Concept Art; Wallpapers; Screen Saver and Game's Strategy Guide. Most of these extra features can be accessed only after the entire game is completed.
Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.

A good creepy HOG on the short side. Took me only 5 hours to go through both main game and bonus play.
You are a detective investigating a sudden epidemic where people age suddenly....mainly through music. On arrival, a townswoman implores you to find her young daughter.
Music is deliciously chilling and haunting. I found the graphics a bit on the dark side during HO scenes. The quality was average. I liked the music theme whereby the HO scenes were highlighted by musical notes. This game is very HO heavy.
The story develops slowly but scenes are different. There is no map for this game and there is quite a bit of backtracking, but not overly done. Many scenes are pretty spooky, so not suitable for young children. The puzzles were moderately easy, so not much brain strain!
The bonus chapter takes off after the main game and is very relevant. Apparently the next game in the series carries on the story.
No bugs. Recommend buying on sale. 7.5/10
