Let's be honest, once you've played one of these "HOG" games, you've played them all...
It's always the same, but slightly different... ;-)
Still, this one's a solid installation in this genre and fully recommended for the HOG-adventure fans!
PS: Some achievements are tedious and might require a game replay.

Normally I don't mind spending money on these games but I get at least 3 hours of play time out of them but this is the only time I've had game lose oall of my progress, including steam achievements and now I don't even feel like playing through the time entire thing again. This was a waste of a day and the developers use exactly the same puzzles over and over, which is boring and cheap.

An excellent sequel to Darkness and Flame: Born of Fire. Graphics have been improved and we now have classic hidden-object scenes in addition to other formats. And, again, getting 100% achievements is quite difficult.
Unfortunately the English voice acting is still quite bad and diminishes the experience.

In this one, you are trying to find a way to help your Uncle regain his memories. While doing so, you will find out more of what happened to Earth, and why is it in such disarray.
HO scenes are fun, minigames challenging, and the plot engaging. Recommend in the bundle, just for ease of purchase.

Captivating story,
in continuation from Born of Fire.
For the patience, meticulous and keen eyes.
Felt much easier since last experience.
Only seemingly problematic part might be the Bonus mini-games.
Recommend to take notes of the achievements,
in detail through Hard mode so to complete in a single run.
Some puzzles are met with 60 sec timers, be on your toes.
Well played experience.

The second game of the series! It is also very good. The story continues and even if you didn't play the first one... they recap it for ya. I don't like apocalyptic stuff... but this game makes me want to play through it and see people survive. You uncover more of a mystery, that was started in the first game, while traveling through ravaged lands.
Music is peaceful in appropriate times and everything just works really good overall. I liked the first one and now this one too. Keep up the good work! :) :> =)

Darkness and Flame: Missing Memories is a nice casual Hidden Objects game.
All achievements are easy to get in a single playthrough.
There is a bonus chapter. The gameplay length is fair considering the price and the genre.
Actually I didn't get the trading cards. I was expecting this since some player review already pointed this out. I understand the deceitful feeling of some players to have been abused and that's why I'm bringing this up too.
However, despite being a bit puzzled about cards being annonced but never dropping and though I don't think that's fair from the developper/publisher and from Steam to allow this, to me it's not a good reason to put a thumb down to the game itself. Cards are not the reason why i buy a game, they are more like a bonus.
Therefore I do recommend Darkness and Flame: Missing Memories for the game is rather good in its genre.
Compared to other games from the same team (Five-BN), I have to admit that I preferred The Legacy : Forgotten Gates and above all the 4 episodes of the Lost Lands serie which was a very good HOG serie, with a good story, a nice gameplay, collectibles and achievements.
Nevertheless Darkness and Flame: Missing Memories shares a lot of similarities with these mentionned games.
As far as the storyline is concerned, it lacks a bit of depth but the idea is not bad. I liked the story background, the graphics and the whole art style. Splendid.
Voice acting is ok, as well as the music.
Puzzles are quite easy (maybe too easy.. it depends on your expectancies).
A map allows quick travel from a location to another (and gives indication in casual mode).
It has a good game pace.
I truly enjoyed the hours spent on it.
Cutscenes are well implemented and quite immersive. They are rather beautiful.
Darkness and Flame: Missing Memories has everything it takes to be a pleasant casual HOG.

It took me 7 hours to play both main story and bonus chapter. This is the sequel to Darkness and Flame: Born of Fire and continues the adventures of Alice and her uncle Colin. Uncle Colin has lost his memories and the story follows their adventures to restore his memory and to save the woman in his recurring nightmares.
There is a variety of environments and you meet many interesting characters. You have to collect items and morphing objects in every scene. They are fairly easy to find. There is a good map which can fast track you to a scene.
Graphics were well done and the cutscenes were excellent. Music and voiceovers were good. Puzzles were doable. I didn't skip one and played on advanced mode. Story was good and I didn't get bored as there was plenty to do.
I particularly liked the HO scenes which were shadows of the item you needed to find and were interactive with the scene. They really made you think!! A couple of the scenes had to done in 60 seconds, so concentration was a necessity!! I didn't get all the achievements, but I wasn't aiming for them all.
The quality in the bonus chapter was the same as the main story. It went into depth about a couple of the minor characters. A high quality game and well worth full price. 8/10.

The second part of the series Darkness and Flame. Alice is back with her uncle Colin who lost his memories and having this recurring nightmare. Both of them had to leave the forbidden city they took a shelter in and head to a healer in the southern oasis in hope he will be able to help Colin regaining his memories. Of course, an adventure like that had so many obstacles, especially when Alice must hide the bird of fire she had from the first game, or else the Sacuums would capture her to do some research.

The graphics of the games are really pretty. I enjoyed the details in all the locations, the cutscenes are well animated too. You can rewatch those videos from the extra menu once you are done playing the game.

The voice acting was good, forced and dramatic in some parts but overall it was good. Music is the same as the first game, good and fitting the atmosphere. The gameplay is direct and clear, if you want all the achievements you'll have to play on expert difficulty, it wasn't very hard, and if you ever stuck in any part, there is an in-game guide to help.

Pros:
+Beautiful graphics and location.
+Very good cutscenes and animations.
+Interesting story.
+Good music
+Good voice over.
+Fast travel map.
+Nice journal.
+Collectibles. (There is a section in 'Extra' menu where you can play the game in a collectible mood, it will allow you to go back and forth and collect whatever you missed during your gameplay)
+Steam achievements.
Cons:
-I didn't like the fact that I had to play multiple bonus repetitive puzzles (20 in total) from the Bonus menu section in order to get all the achievements.
The bonus chapter was a good addition to learn more about the minor characters in the game. I didn't encounter any bugs during my gameplay. Give this game a go, you'll like it even if you haven't played the first part.
