I have Noticed people who read FSN first Dislike this VN but the people who read this First prefer it over FSN I read this first and I prefer this VN over FSN so I fall in that category but I would suggest reading this first if you're interested in this VN I even read it twice

I'ma keep this one short and sweet. This leaves nothing to be desired in such a manor as to be a delightful experience, written with a design as to be just satisfying enough to be an absolutely unregretable experience. I urge anyone reading this review to buy both acts one and two, even if you only intend to follow one route. The developers deserve the money. Also, Marie is best girl. Any naysayers don't know what they're talkin about.

i thought it was about near-century-old magical nazi supersoldiers, but now i'm not so sure. i also thought it was a battle royale at first, but its actually a really complicated mexican standoff. also marie did nothing wrong, and rusalka is best girl.

This is the longest visual novel I've played... I've played other games more, but they were essentially replayable (or just superb, as in the case of Steins;Gate). I don't feel like returning to Dies Irae soon, because the whole thing is very... dense, as in "density". A full course of a story with several points of view and even spinoffs woven within. 4 full routes that are also romantic in nature, the battles to the death are always for a girl's sake (but for pals' too). Dies Irae is the fabled "day of wrath" where a man will return to the world to destroy it and rebuild it in his own vision. And our mission is to foil that. Add some Nazi goodness here and there and you've got a captivating dish. If you've laid eyes upon it and are wondering if to get it or not... well, first of all, it lasts forever. Took me more than 70 hours to do 100%. The story is like Tokyo Babel or others but on steroids. It's certainly captivating and memorable. In all that time they weave a compelling world of characters and their relationships and even dreams and goals. Throw in the typical "chuuni" elements of superpowers, transcendence, etc, and you get the full picture. I certainly prefer the games I like to last more, I don't tend to think much of short VNs. In this case, Dies Irae gives a pleasant aftertaste. My favourite are still in the 30-50 hour range but this is good enough to keep you interested. At least that was my case.

Well after I installed patch for 4:3 res steam stopped to recognize me playing. Finished all routes and all sub-stories. If I were 10 years younger maybe Dies might be 9/10 or 10/10 for me, but as for today I just didn't feel much while reading. A lot of themes that I've seen in other anime titles, weak main fem characters(compared to FSN), battles as emotional porn, and 100 hours vn with so much pathos just made me feel exhausted. Also if it wasn't shounen it would be better vn for me. Still if I were a some game journalist I would probably score it as 9\10 cuz cool characters, interesting analysis of their personalities, sometimes not bad philosophy and so on, but since all my scores just mostly my personal feelings, so... 7.5\10.
