It Depends what you define as training, If someone is guiding you then look other way but you can spawn in approach sooo

It's really useful DLC, you won't have lessons how to land, but you can put your plane to any kind of approach configuration, postions, airports, etc in SECONDS. ILS freqs, course, speed could be set up in advance too, so you just really have to land that bird.

This add-on is a must for all those that struggle with their landings. Approaches can be quickly configured and the results of the landing data can be viewed and printed if necessary.
I would have liked better documentation, for example - what performance data we are ideally trying to achieve, and also how to link 3rd party navigation data into the system. But overall I would say a very good add-on

I too had the problem of the add on not running when FSX was started. An email to FS Control asking for assistance was not helpful in any fashion, diverted me to another company, and instead worked on me to buy additional products from them - not a good response.
I was able to solve the problem by locating the executable on my hard drive and then running it directly and creating an icon on the desktop for doing so. From this point on, I am now in business and I expect the add on to be very helpful to me. So basically it looks like I was on my own, like other individuals that are reporting here, and that I got lucky with a solution.
I have access to the add on now, but it definitely did not load 'automatically' like advertised (and like the Moving Map from the same company does without issue).
Another mixed review, 1 thumb up, 1 thumb down. Recommended with a couple of serious disclaimers.

Not worth the money, it an old version 1.01 , there's a much newer version on the makers website, you don't get an activation key with the steam license. If you purchase it from the makers you get a key and lifetime upgrades.
If you make any changes to set values you just end up sitting looking at a blank screen and wondering what is going on when the game is loading in the background, it's so slow to load any approaches that you could have walked the distance and been in the arrivals lounge before anyone. When you "ALT tab all you get is a "Ding" and no reaction. Don't bother.......

I tried for hours to get this DLC to run and could get it to work. I contacted Dovetail games 5 times, and they never responded. I requested a refund from Steam since it didn't run, but they claim my hours of trying to get it to work count as game play and denied a refund. Submitted an appeal and hopefully they will do the right thing and refund my payment. Save your money and save yourself the aggrevation of trying to get it to work. The developer obviously doesn't care if the product fails to run.

Just purchased this and very pleased, does exactly what I wanted, sets your aircraft at different points in the landing pattern in the selected airport and then you fly it in to the landing. Now you don't have to take off and position that aircraft, just click and you are moved to one of the selected positions. You can view your position on the glide slope and adjust as needed. HUGE help for training and improving my landings. Not a voiced tutorial, you will have to be able to observed your performance and make needed adjustments. If you want a voiced instructor, adding FS Flight School provides an instructor to help you along. The combinatin is awesome, saves time and allows you to training on all pre-landing postions in the landing pattern.

It's not "approach training" but more like information about your Approach and landing . I was hoping for lessons like the lessons that come with FSX but it's just analysis of your landings after the fact. Which is nice, but that's not what the word "training" means. If I'd realized that's what it was I wouldn't have bought it. I regret spending money on this.
