Very weird problems with controls. No setting for stick-deadzone, so my sensetive controller cant be used as the character will move on his own even if I don't touch the stick.
Switching to keyboard causes the keyholds register as presses, making the character move in a very choppy way. It also disables any ability to run. Only game in which I have seen this happen.
It's very cheap and seemed like a fun game but can not recommend.

Sorry, dev - the traps right next to the exits are a pointless and irritating element. The game is an otherwise quite well balanced top down dungeon shooter. Most of the positive reviews below i would endorse. However, after clearing a level to be unavoidably killed whilst exiting is rage inducing - I won't be playing any more. I've only reached Mountain 2, and it's happened a couple of times already. What a pity. - UPDATE - Moraes Studios responded quickly and generously to my moan above. Issue seems resolved . I'll return soon and die some more - just not pointlessly, anymore. Cheers, dev! - YOU THERE! - buy this xlnt pixel rogue today!

For the price, the game is reasonable, but there is a host of glitches, bugs, and gameplay features that cause it to be just passable.
The game has some hitbox issues especially with the laser, as it can sometimes be unreliable, but the other weapons don't suffer as much from this issue. Overall, the game isn't too bad, but could definitely use a update. 6/10

Kinda bought this as a joke. Got a discount voucher from crafting a steam badge. Had a couple of cents in my steam wallet so I was like why not.
Its turned out to be a good purchase. Very casual game you can pick up play a round and close. Theres not really much to it.

The best thing I can say about this game is that it's short: I was just about able to finish the story campaign before boredom set in. Bland graphics, functional but uninspired gameplay, and an excuse plot of a story add up to what is far from the worst thing I've played, but still not something I can recommend , even at this price.

Just found this game by pure accident, and I am glad that I did!
These developers are way underselling this super fun little indie gem for just 99 cents when I feel it offers plenty of value and replay value to warrant a $10 price tag!

While this game has a couple of minor little bugs, it still scored an impressive 95% score using my unique scoring system which grades indie games more on value and fun that it does graphics. Because of the high score and my recent discovery of this amazing little game, I started a whole new series on my YT channel called" Discovered Hidden Gem!" just for games like this one here!
* Procedural dungeon generation helps deliver a high replay value.
* This game offers fantastic keyboard and mouse controls with very good response
* Tons of different enemies and enemy tactics keep the adventure to find your sister interesting and fresh
* An awesome item shop that allows you to constantly progress your game towards newer and more powerful gear
* Music is catchy and fits the mood perfectly
* Game sounds are also high quality as are explosion and screen shake effects
* Has a super addictive quality that will have you playing again and again
An absolute STEAL at just 99 cents! - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Legends of Monsters is an adorable arcade pixel shooter in which you're trying to rescue your sister from a evil horde consisting of zombies, ghosts, and even ninja, these enemies are spread throughout five different levels, however once you complete the game a new mode called Random is unlocked in which all enemies can be seen in one level.
Unfortunately there's far more negative than positive when it comes to this game. After reloading the game in the campaign mode, I lost access to my secondary weapon slot and no matter what I do, I'm unable to reobtain it, making the levels much more annoying to complete. Another issue I've had is that I'm unable to find this "Arcade" mode the achievements mention. Either it doesn't exist or the Kill X achievements are broken.
In Random mode, when you die after buying a weapon, that weapon is impossible to get again, forcing you to go back in to the menu and replay Random mode. Another issue that annoys me is that the game claims there to be 11 weapons, however after completing campaign mode and unlocking all purchasable weapons, I've gotten nine.
Overall, it's a disaster of a game filled with some of the bugs I've mentioned, but there are more, such as the ghosts reappearing outside the level, thus being unable to be killed.

Usually you would look at the one dollar price and make an assumption of the bad quality of the game.
Well, this game can have a lot of more features. But the selling point is that it does good with what it has.
Story wise, you just blitz through the levels, upgrade your weapons, defeat the weak boss and save your sister. Nothing much there.
But you'll see some attention to details -

The monsters of this game are smarter than your usual top-down

Your screen is your vision range. Enemies off-screen can fire at you, and you can attack them too (fire where the laser sight is coming from)

The level is randomly generated each time you die. So difficulty varies per play.
There's one small problem with the game. Buying ammo for any weapon gives equal number of bullets (15). So you'll get 15 bullets for the rocket launcher or your machine-gun, at the same price. That was kinda messed up.
Still, easily recommened for one hour of play.

I really enjoyed the game!
Considering it is a low cost project, it has a great gameplay and is very well balanced.
And this soundtrack is really very good, I hope they make it available as dlc.

So you like Binding of Issac, Nuclear Throne, Enter the Gungeon, etc? Well to be fair this game really doesn't do too much to separate itself from the rest of the crowd - not that that's a bad thing if you like those games I named.
The story is plain and simple you are transported into a videogame to save your sister - sounds easy enough, right? There are 5 areas (forest, dungeon, etc) each having increasingly tougher and more enemies. The levels are procedurally generated but you can retry a floor until you beat it which I felt was nice. The later levels actually were easier since you can buy guns and health upgrades.
A couple negative points: 1) the game is short as you can see my playtime is just under 2 hours and 2) the final boss was a little simpler/easier than I would have liked.
A couple positive points: 1) weapons variety is good (each has its own feel) 2) there is a bit of replayability via an arcade mode if that's you thing.
Some closing thoughts: I imagine a lot of people will pass on this just given that it doesn't drop cards but honestly this is truly a gem at this price point. Hope this helps.
