This is obvious a product from "Pre- Half Life Alyx"
Yes, I am using Half LIfe Alyx as a milestone in term of evolution for VR game. Since Half Life Alyx is what's truly revolutionize and set a standard for the VR game afterward.
Its easy to recognize the game to be "Pre-Half Life ALyx" very easily.
- Less gameplay variation
- Less "open"
- Static objects.
These are what you will have from Zombie Riot, However, By no mean this is a bad game. On the contray, This is quite somewhat enjoyable experience.
- You will be move from stage by stage, Ofcourse you won't be able to free roam or moving around, Mostly likely you will be fixed in one place at a time.
- You will start with by default, Two pistol. Then sprinkling with other things like A primary weapons, A melee and a hand grenade. Each stage will given you a different weapons.
- There are also an airdrop where some different power up or item being dropped toward you. You have to shoot it to use it. Up on my playthrough, These power up would be the X2 Ammo, or different weapon.
- Speaking of ammo, This game doesn't let you doing manual reload, You simply just need to click the analogue button for auto reload.
Overall its pretty bland, Since you just move stage to stage, Keep shooting at the enemies to earn the score. And don't let the trailer fools you. That flashy "Bulletstorm" announcement for killing the enemies only apply for HEADSHOT and nothing else, You stuck with what I've mention until the end game, Which is not that long, I am wager.
The only saving grace I've got with this game is actually the artstyle. Reminding me of Hello Neighbor or Maiz. Its interesting to explore or being in that world with this kind of artsyle. (The color palette really is nice)
So yes, Its obvious this game would be a good VR tech demo or a games for VR newcomer. Other than that, This game really doesn't worth the full price, Try to get it on heavy discounted (Mine bought this at 90% Discount)
