one of the best series to immerse in a ww1 experience where one life does not matter. Gameplay is okay, the shooting and reloading feels great and makes a good point about the slow stress they must have experienced with every shot, the ui is simple but it works, I like more options but I guess in the war you had no options, maps are nice(the other games in the series do have nicer maps) Graphics are okay, good enough to not ruin the game. Buy the package, because this single game is almost dead, few players and a lot of bots. Its fine, and worth the discount price; but if you want a more alive game buy the newer ones or the package. Works on Linux after some tinkering (controller mostly) If you like european war-history, you will love this.

goddamn this game is so good, a sublime shooter with incredibly remarkable depth and impeccably smooth gameplay. the variety of weapons and how they all feel in regards to their necessary tactical use is so impressive as nothing feels useless or without an explicit tactical purpose; every weapon/piece of gear is impeccably balanced. the feeling of each gun is soooo juicy and satisfying, this game is absolutely heaven for anyone who likes bolt action/single fire weapons and/or is a history buff looking for the most fun and interesting ww1 shooter out there that is also the most dedicated to historical accuracy.
the depth of the maps surpass that of many other competative shooters ive played with how each hill and trench is placed with an explicable important use and means of manuevering between each small curve, corner, and hill of the map with purpose and no taking advantage over a player if they have an understanding of the world and its environments -- down to each dithered rock and curve you can put yourself prone upon. not a single bit of shubbery is unable to leveraged or without a use to hide a player at the perfectly opportunity and time.
the squad special abilities all have a use to creating a perfect push/pull between allies and enemies, making it incredibly tense and especially important when you pick and choose the moments to hold in on a smoke mortar/call in airstrikes, or push with your entire squads unique specials based on each country distinct histories in the great war. all of this aforementioned progression is tied into a really fun and in depth squad leveling/loadout system that leaves alot of room for playstyle variety requiring team work and also excellent balance.
i said it before and ill say it again, tannenberg is an amazing tactical shooter ww1 fps game, and possibly the best if it is your favorite theater (in alot of ways the scope of the battles make it some of the most and unique for a game as well as most interesting for analysis), complete with great historical accuracy to weapons as well as uniforms and battlefield map design. altogether then, tannenberg is an absolutely brilliantly special ww1 fps game, perhaps my favorite of all the competitive shooters i own and i believe it could become a favorite for you too, especially if you are also a ww1 nerd for a game that is accurate, and fun.

I would rate it a little lower than a positive review like a 7/10. Servers are dead but hey, at least the bots are terrible so you can get amazing kill streaks and can easily swap roles with them. Historically accurate I would say and is pretty fun for the 14 minutes I played it.

TL;DR: It's basically Verdun with a new game mode and a new setting, but even more of a dead game than Verdun. While lacking in originality, Maneuver is a more dynamic and replayable game mode compared to Frontlines.

re-releasing this along with verdun, izonso and future titles in some halo MCC combo so that all could be playable from one game would be the best thing to happen to gaming in years

Enjoying all the WWI games. Verdun was the classic Western Front experience - pushing back and forth in trench warfare. Tannenberg plays more similarly to a conquest style game. I like that if offers a different experience. As far as player count - I don't care. The bots good enough to provide a structured battle.
