One of the best fighting games ever created. Personally the only one I would rank above this is another Guilty Gear game, specifically XX Accent Core +R. Rev 2 is the definitive version of the game, and sees stunning balance across its incredibly diverse and unique roster. I love every single character (besides Jack-O) and the base mechanics of the game itself are also a slam dunk. There are a ton of universal mechanics to learn, but every one has a specific use and is an answer to some classic annoyance of fighting games. Stuck in an endless combo and you want out? Use Burst. Blocking for days and you want to force the opponent to defend for once? Dead Angle. Don't worry, these obviously powerful options have equivalently high costs, leading to an intricate web of decisions that would make for an interesting enough turn-based strategy game, but here you have to play it at 900mph while listening to power metal. It's an absolute blast and if you aren't scared of deep complexity you will find a bottomless well to love here. The one downside about the game is the lack of rollback netcode, but anecdotally I'm able to play with a couple friends on the opposite coast (US) from me with only 4-5 frame delay, which is extremely playable. The upcoming Strive as well as the older GGXXAC+R are both getting rollback netcode, so I feel like those are going to become the go-to games: +R for the more hardcore/old-school players, as Strive is going to be targeting newer/somewhat more casual players. But Xrd Rev 2 will always hold a special place in my heart.

Great add-on, adds 2 new characters to the game: Answer and Baiken. Unfortunately you can't play Baiken and Answer on REV 1, so if your friends dont have REV 2 you're out of luck. There are newer servers so there's a lot less lag and its super fun to play with others!

Love the game. Great tutorial for new players and has that same mechanics of the last game with additional touch-up to make the combat better. Easy to learn and has a steep mastery curve. Great selection of varied characters that feel different from each other. So there is a character for every playstyle. Stunning graphics and great netcode. However the online feels a bit empty as the game is not that popular.

ArcSys definitely making it's way on top of the FG's Obviously you can't go wrong with this if you like Guilty Gear franchise. And honestly with a price tag of 18,99€ it really isn't expensive if you consider that they have added new story, Baiken and Answer as new characters and character rebalancing. I'd say buy it and support actually good and well made fighting game. and of course, who would not want to play as thicc samurai waifu?

Really impresses me how they can shameless sell a FUCKING UPDATE TO THEIR GAME separately as DLC, and charge almost the price of the game itself in it. This is content that should be free, because it's a motherfucking update, but no, you have to buy it. And also, you won't find a soul to play online if you don't have it, let alone the fact that it upgrades and REBALANCES THE GAME. WITH PAID DLC. YES, YOU PAY FOR THEM TO REBALANCE THE GAME. This is bullshit and you should only get this if you buy the package of the full game, or if you bought the normal game alone, unaware that you basically can't play online without the *PAID UPGRADE*, just like me, an innocent little fool. But well, what can you do, that's gaming industry for you, being mercenary as always. Only buy it if you really like Guilty Gear, but I highly recommend getting in sale and in the bundle. I'll recommend because Steam don't have an neutral review option, and since I like Guilty Gear, credit where it's due, this upgrade does come with interesting stuff, it just really bothers me that you have to pay almost the price of the game for a revision, something that should be free, or AT LEAST be really cheap since it's basically an update pack. You shouldn't have to pay for update.

Unless you are a die-hard Guilty Gear player, do NOT purchase this game. It adds two new characters, some new moves for older ones, a bit more story, and that's about it. I applaud Arc for simply making his an expansion of the last game, but it doesn't really bring enough new stuff to warrant its being called a "sequel". The online is much more active, however; so if multiplayer is the reason you're here, this is pretty much your only option. Matchmaking is still fine, and rooms are quick and easy to join. The game itself is excellent, although it's pretty much just Revelator with some bells and whistles; which, in and of itself, was just Sign with a bunch of bells and whistles. So I'm a bit divided. I love this game, and I'll play the series until the bitter end. However, 20,000 Won is pretty steep for how little content it truly adds. If you're just a newcomer, with no plans on long term stay, stick with Rev or Sign and don't buy this yet. If you are a more serious Guilty Gear player like myself, this is a worthy purchase. Just keep in mind that the price does drop during sales.

The Rev 2 DLC is necesary if you wanna keep up with the online playerbase of Guilty Gear, since this is what everyone is currently playing. Obvious stuff aside (new characters, music etc), I really like the gameplay changes. For example, Raven can't completely ignore his Excitement meter anymore, a few characters have new normals and Potemkin got some interesting buffs. Another appreciated change is that Tension for Roman Canceling is spent when the animation finishes, unlike in the previous games where it was spent the momment you did a Roman Cancel. Aside from that, it's still worth it, probably just for the After Stories alone. They give a lot of depth to the already memorable and well written characters of Guilty Gear and they offer a different, more relaxed side of the GG World. The fact that they come as free updates, as long as you have the DLC makes this deal even better.

$20 for two new characters and a fully redone story mode and character rebalances. they used to charge full price for updates like this, y'know? I hope lots of people upgrade this way so ArcSys's efforts to modernize their content are acknowledged and rewarded.

Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR 2- is an update for Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- released in 2017, it is also available on Playstation 3 and 4 as a bundle. Story was extended with 3 new story episodes, also added 2 new characters (Anwser and Baiken) and they arcade scenarios. Aside from 2 very technical but cool characters and they color palettes also some new attacks and balance changes were added. As multiplayer is currently impossible to play without buying REV2 you are propably forced to buy this, but if you have a friend without it you can always change version in settings without losing the progress, but the new stuff will not be available after switching. Just as every other DLC this one adds new piece of genius soundtrack:"Break a spell","ROKUMON" and "Enough is enough". -REVELATOR 2- does not add really much but it is enough, although you will need it to play with anyone online. Buy on discount or pass, 7/10.

In the beginning God created the OST and the stages. Now the game was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of Ishiwatari was hovering over the waters. And God said, Let there be Neutral, and there were airdashes. God saw that the neutral was good, and he separated the neutral from the setplay. God called the neutral Slayer, and the setplay he called Millia. And there was Oki, and there was abare — the first day. God's gift. Praise be Guilty Gear
