I need help getting through PS controls. PS game on PC - graphics also could be better, wasting money even in discount.

Edited for post update Since the update this game is very good. Yes it has a few issues, but its a great platform that I hope the develpers will continue with.

I have removed my old review to give a new review after all the updates. I started playing this game again to see how dedicated the DEV is. My Personal opinion is that they have changed a lot so that the game is more User Friendly. Yes there is still some twist and tweaks that needs to be fix still. I managed to play a few games just doing what a learned from the UI, and was able to play a full game and win. No More Need To Grind Hours To Play. Now I would def Recommend this game.

I'm very happy with Rugby 18. Overall It's a great rugby Sim. Finally. I didn't play the pre-patch version, so I understand why a lot of people is angry but I can't comment on that. Today rugby 18 is a very good game, with perfectly balanced difficulty. It can be a challenge but it's not frustrating, and that is something that really surprised me in a good way. You don't even need sliders to adjust the difficulty because it is in the sweet spot. The developers did a great job and now they have a strong base for future realeses. I can only imagine good things for the future! I think they nailed another important gameplay aspect, the flow and speed. This game is slow no arcadely frenetic, but it is fluid and dynamic. I really love the way they did this. Far better than RC3 and RLL4. My advice: Buy this game, support the team and enjoy a truly rugby Sim experience.

well worth coming back to after patch 1.1 I had orignally refunded this game on the first day of release as It just wasnt great. I still would like to see mouse support for the menus but the game play for the matches are much better still needs some more work maybe this should of came out via EA but as long as this improves over the year Ill be more than happy to buy Rugby 19 :)

right in it's current state the game is not worth purchasing unless discounted. for some reason the game seems to start out working okay but then progressively get worse over time. however my main gripes are the following: -rucking seems to be luck based as the computer seems to be able to ruck out three forwards with a winger -if your winger is in position of over lap with acres of space and you try and pass it to him then the ball gets passed to a player directly behind you. forwards get in front of balls for backs (this could easily be solved by having buttons to be pressed to pass to the forwards and buttons to pass to the backs) -the frame rate is dreadful overall my main recomendation for the dev team is go play rugby 08 and copy that.

In it's current state Rugby 18 is a mess. maybe with a patch or 10 they can fix this game. YES IT IS WORSE THAN RUGBY 15

Update to my review 31/12/2017 Great news! whatever has been changed over the last week has made the game so much better! 1.Breakdowns much harder to win 2. AI plays ball much faster from rucks etc 3. i had to turn difficulty way down as i was getting hammered by the computer (last week I was winning every game on pro) 4. i tried the side view and love it. This game is excellent now and real challenge i felt so good when I got my first crash over try and then it look me a few games to get a try with a break from one of the back and this was with difficulty turned down to amateur. Great works devs this game is excellent now! 24/12/2017 Got game on special offer after patch 1.1. Pretty happy so far after 6 hours of gameplay feels pretty good. Haven’t been able to find an online match yet would be great to test against another player rather than AI. I think a few more tweaks to gameplay for 1.2 especially around the backline and the 10 and we could be on to a very promising game. Keep working on it please Developer Pros: 1. Tacking is good 2. Box kicking is good 3. Forward play is good i.e. phase play , attacking the line with forwards 4. Smooth animations (tackles, running etc) 5. Pro14 squads etc 6. Lineouts are good 7. Scrums are not bad Cons: 1. Breakdowns are too easy to win just keep pressing B and RS to pile in players to win 2. AI often doesn’t play ball quickly from breakdown/ruck giving you too much time to contest. 3. Game turned up to most difficult setting and still winning all matches against AI 4. Place kicks are too easy 5. Computer picks placekicker and I can’t find any option to set who should take kicks. 6. Forwards and backs often out of position when attacking 7. Need to be able to change the plays a bit e.g. get 10 to sit in the pocket or get backline to play deeper, 8. Sometimes calls penalty advantage and then advantage over

Soo where to begin? This game is an absolute car crash. To any of you who are rugby fans, let me explain to you why you DO NOT want to buy this game: 1 - Perhaps most annoying, positions effectively mean nothing. We all know that sometimes a scrum half can't make it to every ruck but pass that ball out of the ruck and I guarentee you it won't reach your fly half. Instead it will reach any other player standing extremely flat. The winger is the only position who is frequently in the right place. 2 - Whoever made this game didn't bother to learn the rules of rugby fisrt. I'm not joking, you'll notice it at some point. I first noticed it when I grubbered the ball over the opposition try line and a defender dived down on it (he didn't take it over the line). I was then awarded a scrum on their 5m line?! Just one of many. 3 - Gameplay. There is no flow to the game. Pass the ball out to your back line and you will see what I mean, just awful. First you will notice that the back line is all bunched up, there are probably only three of them and they are all so flat you will never reach the third player. 4 - Drop goals don't exist. Seriously... I don't think whoever made this game has ever played rugby in their life. I can't be bothered to go on. There are plenty of other complaints (there are only about 7 stadiums, commentary is awful, maul system is stupid, as is the scrum and ruck system). I bought this because it was on deal and thought it would be easy playing - I regret it. Please don't give these idiots your money. I am not joking when I say that Rugby 06 was waaaaaayy better.

There's a lot of promise to this game but it's not there yet. Pros: [list] [*]Smooth animations (tackles, running etc) [*]Up-to-date squads (just about) [/list] Cons: [list] [*]Attacking line has no depth, backs plays are impossible [*]Players all feel the same (couldn't tell if I was controlling a back or a forward, eg Leicester's Veainu couldn't outpace a prop...) [*]Lineouts are hard, near impossible, to read when defending [/list] With some updates this game could be pretty decent but I'm going to stick with RC3 for now.
