I found the world of ashes to be fasinating. Lots of rich character development and a fun time exploring is all I need for a good time. From the games start iv been entertained and look forward to continuing the game.

Oof, I bounced off of this one hard and fast. I should've known better than to buy that RPGmaker bundle.
I troll steam pretty regularly for RPGmaker games. I adore the genre, and there's a lot of charm to seeing what the results are when the barrier to entry of making a work of art is reduced to almost 0. You get games that experiment with what they can possibly do, you get games that do their damndest to iterate and just nail in the best of the genre, you get games that clearly have no clue what they're doing, but abound in enthusiasm enough that they almost make up for it.
And more often than any of those, you get games like this one: Where the plot drowns you in words you do not care about, and the turn-based combat is slow and lacks feedback badly enough that it feels like you're just flailing at buttons and going "Wait, why does my ability that consumes mana do less damage than my basic attack? What's even going on here?"
I sat on my hands and didn't get to this game after the sale quickly enough to refund it. You can do even better than I should have by just not buying it in the first place. I've given middling reviews to free games that I like better than this one.

A pretty decent RPG maker game.
The devs listen to feedback.
Production value wise the presentation is much better compared to 90% of other RPG Maker games on Steam.
Gameplay wise, it is standard RPG Maker, albeit with a bit wider customization.
Can't say too much about writing, but there are efforts for world building which make it better than a lot of other RPG Maker games.
Verdict: above average, buy it if you like RPG Maker style games

Before I start, the hours that it says I played are probably very misleading. I restarted the game a few times and went back and redid things (thanks to having numerous saves) so the hours are kinda misleading. With that aside, this game is one I honestly didn't know what to think about at first. The first area was pretty rough and difficult and I didn't know if I would make it through. However, once I got through it the game really took off and I loved every minute of it. There is so much to this game that you wouldn't realize. There is hidden lore everywhere and things you have to look hard to find that will add to everything.
I'm not someone who can really go into deep detail about things like you'd expect in a review, but I really just like almost everything about this game. I can't say the game is completely perfect because there are some typos and little things but that's really all I can complain about. All of the other issues I've had the developers have worked to fix. That is a big thing for me. The developers are willing to listen to the players and make changes based on what we say. I don't know that many who would do that.
Seriously, if you are a fan of RPGs I'd give this game a try. I highly recommend this game!
