Among the 3 DLC'S this is probably the best one. There no new mechanic but I liked the battle walker focused level layouts.

It's worth being said as a preface; above all, this is NOT worth the original asking price. Get this on a deep sale or something. $10 for essentially an asset-flip of pre-existing Wolfenstein II levels with literally no new features added is an absolute disgrace. As always with these Freedom Chronicles DLCs... Bleh. It's just more Wolfenstein. I would argue that, gameplay wise, this one is probably the most uninspired one of them all. You're basically just a generic US soldier who wants to shut down a Nazi superweapon, and that's about as far as it goes. There's a
betrayal
and some family revelations along the way, but that's all secondary to an already very shallow plot. The interactions between Gerald and Ginny are quite sweet and spawn probably the most humourous dialogue throughout the Freedom Chronicles, but that's about all I took away from this one. Like the others, there's absolutely nothing new here mechanically wise - the closest thing you've got are those Nazi stretching-boot things that you can optionally miss in the base game but good lord, they're so damn finicky and clunky that, outside of a few brief platforming segments, you'll never want to use. Even the visuals seem copy-pasted from the base game; there's rooms that the exact layouts I swear I've seen before. There was a moment when you climb up onto a platform and stealth kill a Nazi looking out of the window into a jungle-like environment which struck me as one of the few cases where you see actual green in Wolfenstein. Like, natural green you see from trees and bushes. That made me think about how much potential there was for this DLC if it was set in a Vietnam-like jungle environment as that's uncharted territory for the series... but nope. Just a bunch of grey corridors with the same ol' enemies with the same designs. Wasted potential. As with the other Freedom Chronicles chapters, they're most fun when you lean into the abilities and backstory of the characters you play. Gerald Wilkins, being a disgruntled vet with an adverse to technology, is most interesting (and "immersive", for lack of a better term) if you abstain from dual-wielding and heavy weaponry and exclusively use the pistol, SMG, shotgun and AR with the sniper modification. It's just a shame the developers didn't seem to take that in mind, instead you basically just have to make the rules for yourself to make these levels even the slightest bit memorable or unique. Besides, "you have to impose artificial restrictions on yourself to make this $10 DLC even the tiniest bit worthwhile" doesn't exactly bode well as a tag-line, does it?
