SOS Reviews
In SOS: BR, You are 1 of 32 players on La Cuna Island, forced to fight to the death. Along with your wits, you will have to equip yourself. Guns are certainly an option, but melee weapons are just as deadly. Keep your eyes open for footprints and other indicators that help you stalk your enemies...

Streamers have a huge advantage in this game. They can literally chose what they want from airdrop. If they aren't calling the airdrop then the viewers will vote for you to get junk. Streamers have alot of followers that will queue with them and help them win and when there are only 16 people and you start the match with half on a team you are guaranteed to lose. And I have watched a couple streamers after I got pist and fed up and they like to accuse and report anyone that kills them of "stream-sniping" so if you do kill a streamer you will most likely be banned for it. The player base is extreemly small so there might be 2 games going at a time so if you die at the beggining of your match expect a 10minute queue time and be playing with a difrent streamer.
Long story short. If you aren't a big time streamer or got friends to queue up with don't bother touching this game.

DONT BUY THIS GAME!
I really loved the core idea of it, the fact it is not some lame BR game like the rest. I loved the social aspect about it, it was unique.
Then there was Content Update 2. They asked the community what they want to have added to the game. More guns and armour was the least voted thing. And guess what got into the game? Exactly, guns and armour. That was the first sign, that the Devs dont give a thing about their community. And now i know, that has already been their first step towards their Battle Royal game plan, we all got tricked and didnt realise it. And now "Content Update 3", a Battle Royal Mode. What a surprise. No one asked for it, no one wanted it. And again, they didnt give a shit and just did it. And on top of that, turned out it isnt even just a new game mode. The whole game got changed. The Name, the description. Sure, the devs say hey, you can still play the classic version but come on. We aint stupid, we know what you are up to. With the next Content Update the classic mode will be gone. Or you just stop adding content to it. I feel fooled by the Dev Team on the cheapest level, all they wanted was my money to use it so they can change the game in a way to just get more money: Battle Royal. They changed the core aspect of the game, the thing we all PAID for, and we wont get any more Content to what we PAID for.
So, to cut a long story short: I advise you all to not buy this game. Dont support those Devs. All they want is your money, they dont care if the game is how the community enjoys it. Its just a bunch of liars.

I remember when this game made me feel like I was on a gameshow, there were nice players to talk to and a good community. The game had actual meaning, and you used your words more than guns. I don't even recognize it anymore. If you want to play another regular battle royal no talking, no objectives other than kill play this. hopefully the game creators come to realize on what this great potential game had and revert it back to it's og self. Sadly SOS is collecting dust on my steam shelf. :/

They had such a great game in the Alpha and Beta then they basically shredded it to pieces when they added the nighttime mode, armour, and guns. They didn't get good reviews from the community so what do they do, well they add a really really really bad battle royal mode where all of the social aspects of the game were eliminated. I played 1 game of battle royal and just quit forever unless they actually go back to the good old Alpha or Beta. This games sucess was prosporus then and a lot of big youtubers like Ohmwrecker and H2O Delerious played it and got millions of views. This is great publicity for them and honestly they wrecked it. I remember when the weekend playtests were going on I used to sit on my computer the whole weekend with newly formed friends in my new closely knit community, but now all the previous people that played it have stopped all of the funtimes are over. WARNING DO NOT BUY! But if they restored it to the regular Beta and Alpha I would definitly play this. Even the Battle Royal mode was doomed from the start, they have to compete with free games like Fortnite and Darwins Project, but those games are even much better than SOS. Even PUBG or H1Z1 are much better games and are the same cost. Congradulations Outpost Games, You screwed up your game, when it could have actually worked. Now I think it's to far gone to come back and pull the players that left.

Unfortunatly, the devs are pretty ban happy if you kill streamers.
Found that out today when I was watching someone streaming the game trying to team with his mate, he killed some chick and her friend was crying about him stream sniping, and he was banned next game.
Great dev team you got here.
Remember boys and girls, being a KOS is a horrible thing, if you try to kill others, you'll most likely kill some streamer and get banned pretty quickly.

As a Beta player, this game was extremely fun and hands down my favorite game, until all the streamers came in and ruined it. This game favors streamers and leaves anyone who doesn't stream at a huge disadvantage. The voting system through Hero.tv was a great idea until all of the viewers voted good things for the stream they're watching and horrible things for anyone else playing, giving the streamer a huge advantage. Paying to get the short stick every game is not worth my money.

The game is very fun to play.
The game is currently in Early Access, and people would assume its another shit game by shit developers wanting to leach off of players by creating a 1/10 of a game and putting a $30 price tag on it.
Well this game particularly doesn't do that. The game is solid, and runs perfectly fine even on lower end systems. I ran it on a laptop with a 860M and i7-4720HQ with 8GBs of ram and another pc with a AMD 8350 and Gtx 780. Ran perfectly fine on them, the basic mechanics of the game work great. It is a little bland as the Map isn't too large and you get the hang of where to find good loot, even if its complete random. Decent set of Characters to choose from, and the their customaization's are quite good.
3 bland enemies, small creature which can be killed instantly by throwing your knife or axe, Larger Blue creatures take two shots to the head by a throwablw knife and axe. Most interesting creature is the one carrying the Relic. I wish they gave him a different move set and made it more difficult as they all do the same thing. Scratch, Charge Attack and Bite.
This is something I really wish they improve on to make the games more interesting.
Heal mechanic is pretty decent, posion mechanic is awesome and I love that they implemented the feature.
Large con for me is that like most other Early Access games, they don't strive to far away from 1 general sense. They idiolize streamers, swearing/ harrassment could get you punished, and not the normal sevre harrassment, like religious attacks, or race etc. No simply telling the wrong streamer to fuck off, or fuck you. Will get you banned from the game.
Biggest pile of shit to be honest, it's a game about surviving, creating friends and then being backstabed because he wanted to escape before you. Its rage enticing, and its all about trying to survive no matter what.
Survive the island full of other players and survive the Streamers crying wolf to the developers. Hoping to God your $30-$100 didn't go to waste, because they made it clear. If you get banned/ suspended you better not purchase another game, because whatever you did, you deserved it. Don't fuck with daddy's little children.

Dear Outpost Games INC,
SOS was probably one of the most intruiging, fun, and amazing games that I have ever played. I would literally spent entire NIGHTS just playing that amazing game that you produced. All the things were there! Originality, communicating with eachother, etc. My favorite part was that you had your voice as a weapon, and your only objectives were surviving, excaping, trusting, and FRIENDSHIP.
Notice anything, Outpost?
Well you probably don't, judging by your complete neglect for your fanbase, so I'll go ahead and point it out for you!
Everything in that paragraph was past tense. Wanna know why? because you turned this game into an absolute piece of sh*t.
Notice, Outpost, how at one time there were 100 streamers streaming your game? I checked yesterday on twitch. 1 streamer.
And now you're removing classic mode? Bravo, outpost. We're all clapping for you. Way to go. No one agrees with your decision to make this amazing game into a trashy PUBG CLONE.
Why. Outpost?
Outpost.
Why do we need another sh*tty pubg clone? Are there no other BR games in the loopy land that you're living in?
But OK, I get it. Player counts were dropping fast so you had to do something. but why sink the ship itself?
But you don't care about me, right? because I'm irrelevent. I'm just another one of your consumers who spent 30 dollars on your game. 30 DOLLARS. I hope you realize how bad of a decision you made.
Its obvious your'e doing this for the money. It PO's me how much you guys don't care.
Sincerely,
One of your irrelevent customers.

I used to be able to recommend this game. Sadly, that has changed.
What was SOS like before?
SOS was a social-based game. You were 1 of 16 players on La Cuna Island. People basically requied a mic for it to be fun, and believe me it was a lot of fun. You could form alliances, make enemies and work together towards victory. The aim of the game was to get a relic from the Hupia (NPC monsters) and get extracted from the island. There was not a single 'winner', there were 4 relics and 3 extraction seats, meaning a total of 3 'winners'. Most players considered getting a teammate extracted a victory. What really made this game great was the social aspect, you could betray your teammates or work with them, and depending what you do you get a rank which basically states if you're usually a betrayer, or a team player, or a loner if you're that type of person. There was also the pre-match "meet the contestents", where each player got about 5 seconds to introduce themselves and other players could see how well they work with team mates. If you had previously met someone before in the same match, it would put both of you on the same scene saying if you killed them before, helped them extract etc. They had an original idea and it worked well.
What happened?
Before content updates 2 and 3, this game was great, everything was looking bright for the future of the game. Now, there were some issues with the devs heavily favouring streamers over their players and banning players for literally killing streamers, but the actual gameplay was great.
The devs asked the community what they wanted, we wanted more melee based combat, but guess what they added in content update 2? Shotguns and armor. At this point I saw it as the start of the end (and stopped playing).
Fast forward to about a week ago and you have "SOS: Battle Royale" in content update 3. What the actual fuck. They had their original idea, the social trust-based game and completly ripped it apart. What made this game great was the social aspect of it. Now it's just some sort of knock off (faster paced) PUBG. Yes, you can still play "SOS: Classic" but at the time of writing there are less players playing classic than The Culling. They had spent over a year working on SOS (their premiere was 10 months ago, when I first heard of the game), and completly scrapped it to hop aboard the "Battle Royale Hype Train".
It is a huge shame the devs just put their game to shit. If they didn't constantly white-knight streamers and completly fuck up their original idea then this game could have been successful. If you want to see what the game used to look like, you can take a look at their premiere, which featured a 16 streamers playing their game.
