Bail on this game before you buy it.
I forgot why or how I got this game and that might be for the better.
This game is tryhard in every sense of the word except trying hard to make a good product.
There are better ways to spend $3 and I'll give you 3 for each dollar you'll save NOT buying this.
1. The game "mentions" that it lacks a story yet it goes out of its way to give you the barebones of one anyways at the start of the game. An uninteresting one that I don't believe gets elaborated on whatsoever (most likely intentionally) that you cannot skip. You just have to mash your way through the text. Already lowering the bar from Minute 1.
2. This game is laughably simple. Essentially being Geometry Dash with none of the depth and nuance. Don't expect exciting new music for every level. Don't expect flashy new locales or visuals to greet you after every milestone. Expect to see 1/3 flavors of uninspiring slop.
Turn off the music and "sound effects" and listen to a Youtube video while you zone out.
3. This game might have 90 levels total but by Level 10 of World 1, you'll feel worn down by the condescending tone and the lack of stimulation. I played the first 5 levels of each world and it all felt like trial and error than meaningful challenge. The game allows you to change character aka speed of the tracks and it doesn't make much difference besides an improvement of time.
Pass the levels, collect the stars, that's all the game cares about.
The name Aftergrinder had so much promise. Would you be a skateboarding ghost? Maybe you would be playing with "after images" instead of dying on wipeout? A name offers a world of potential and can is easily stained when you fail to even reach mediocrity.
Steer clear and let this purchase be an afterthought.
