If you are a fan of COD zombies style wave shooters, or Old School Runescape, this is the game for you. You might ask "what the heck does OSRS have to do with this?" The answer to that is nothing, nothing at all, it just means youre a chad with taste.

REVIEW ON VALVE INDEX
Fun, great value VR shooter game that's charming with similar Unreal assets from "Legend of Luca" and "VR dungeon knight" however they are more customized to be more unique. I do like the variety they give you on how to play the game with spells, range weapons and melee. The music is upbeat and fun and doesn't get boring fast. There are a few other options that are under construction since this is an early-access. The controls for the Valve Index are not perfect to match the instructions in game so don't expect perfect functionality as the developer may address them, hopefully soon. I will update my review and place a video on my VR channel soon. Happy Gaming.

Monster Showdown is a VR shooter where you have a variety of guns to pick from, with 2 main modes. a survival round game and a Gun Game where you get a new gun after a number of kills until you go through all of them!
The Good:
The game has a good number of guns to pick from and to experiment with. They change how the game plays and add for a lot of repeatability and exploration for what you like.
The movement in the game is satisfying. You have access to 2 dashes when starting out and can unlock more as you progress, this allows for good manoeuvrability which is always a plus in any shooter.
There is a good number of maps to play around in and there is a good variety of enemies and bosses to fight. The general art style and art direction is fun and makes it more interesting when exploring the different maps and areas!
You can pet a dog!!
The Bad:
There is no coop or multiplayer mode. It would be fun to play around with a group of friends and fight against the waves together, but unfortunately the game is single player only
The game is on the shorter side with about 9 or 10 levels (probably can be done in 4 or 5 hours).
Overall the game is a fun quick journey and an interesting take on VR shooters. I would rate the game 76/100!

Played the game for a little over an hour and here are my thoughts.
Pros:
- There is a big variety in monsters and levels which helps keep things from getting repetitive.
- Having both magic and range weapons to fight monsters is pretty cool and reminds me of Bioshock.
- The buff system is a cool idea and some of the buffs are really cool but I think it still needs a bit of work.
- Having an arena mode where you can fight monsters from all the worlds is pretty cool and reminds me of the Olympus Coliseum Cups in Kingdom Hearts.
Cons:
- The number of ranged weapons are alright but having a bigger variety would be great.
- Story is basically non-existent. The game doesn’t tell you why you are fighting all these monsters and what the goal is.
- The levels can sometimes get a bit repetitive, having more variety would be lovely.
- Being able to use magic in one hand and a range weapon in the other hand is pretty great and all but I would like to have the ability to choose whether I want to use Magic & Weapon, Magic & Magic or Weapon & Weapon.
Overall I think the game is fun but it still needs a lot of polishing. Since the game is still Early Access and the developers seem to be updating the game quite frequently I’m optimistic the game will get better.
I personally will try the game again when the next update comes out and will see if they address the issues that I mentioned.

I wish there was a (kinda) option. The game is literally just cod zombies in vr, but with a little less stuff and everything feeling bigger because it is... I liked it a lot, and had fun, but this was one of those games I kinda wish I refunded. But since I can't anymore I have the urge to try to play the game more and more to see the extra content near the end of the game. The game is getting more and more fun as you go through but it's hard to get through it in the first place, it's not that it's too hard, it's that it's just a little, too... idk I really don't know what to say it's just off. Might just be because I like games that are a little faster, i'll keep playing and maybe one day change my reveiw. I'm really borderline on this one

The levels, graphics style, and movement mechanics are all great, and as a wave shooter, there is a good variety of levels, guns, and enemies. It's supposed to be fun in every sense, but I found one thing lacking, and unfortunately, it kills all the goodness.
The gun reloading mechanics suck. You have to remember to do two things at the same time, which is holding the gun upwards and pressing the grip button. I thought I could get used to it, after all, it's a simple gun reloading mechanics. But maybe the real problem is the lack of enough feedback when reloading the gun. You could easily die while trying to shoot without noticing that one of your guns is actually empty. And that simple thing really matters during crowded rounds and kills the fun and will to progress further.

It's CoD Zombies, but with generic guns and doughnuts instead of cola. There are a few mod-inspired maps too. Honestly, it's fun, but it has its issues. There are some issues with the reload animation and ammo count, some quirks with the dash, and some peculiarities with some of the guns that are not bugs but just feel weird. If you like CoD Zombies, you will like this. If you are not a fan of Zombies, or you feel that old school CoD Zombies can be too tedious, then you might want to skip. But Monster Showdown does what it seems to set out to do, and it is a mostly enjoyable experience.

So played today for first time after a few updates. First this is NOT the game I purchased, AT ALL. I know it's early access and I expect some changes in gameplay etc, but this is a completely different game, even a different genre. It went from a dungeon crawler to a serious sam/ COD clone, with no tutorial, no controller explanations and horrible interface. It took me forever to figure out how to reload, I still don't know how to swap weapons. If you're going to completely scrap a game and start over (name and all) then just abandon the project and make the new game on it's own don't fob it off on early access purchasers.
