Bloody Trapland 2: Curiosity - Soundtrack Steam Charts & Stats

I like the candy music, but that's about it.

TL;DR at the bottom. This soundtrack is kind of weird, most of the tracks are pretty generic and unimpressive sounding, and not many are all too memorable. From the very beginning, the title screen music sounds like one of the most boring and unimaginative things ever, a far cry from the iconic title music of the original Bloody Trapland. None of the music really gets at all good or memorable until about half way through the game, where it's pleasantly surprising how nice they can be. Track 5, Ice main - Chilly con Carnage, is probably the first good track in the game in my opinion. It's got good pacing, doesn't sound like generic wintery music, and you know what? It sounds like Bloody Trapland music. It really is nice. The ice boss theme feels a tad bit empty, but can still work as some nice ambiance. The cave music is a real low point for me, but I'd still say to give it a listen so you can see what you think personally. Next up is the candyland music, which isn't bad either. It's more chiptune sounding like the castle music from Bloody Trapland, just slower paced. Track 10, Candy boss - Sugar Sweet Smack, is easily tied for my favorite track in the OST. Kind of disappointing that it's just a 44 second loop. Onto the last world, and the music sounds like a kind of generic techno something. Not great, but not at all bad. Track 12, Last world boss - Curiosity Killed the Cat, the final boss theme, is what ties as the best for me. This one is a 1:42 loop, it has a whole 58 seconds on our friend back in candyland. Tracks 13, 13, and 14 are the title screen (?), the title screen (?), and the credits. Yeah, the actual download of the OST has two track 13s, "Mellow Main Menu" and "Menu song". The only difference I can notice is that the drums in "Menu song" are much more prominent. After those, the credits song is actually quite nice. Generally it's just a really mixed bag, but I'd say to go for it. However, the steam download of the soundtrack is 192kbps MP3. Just go to Fredrik Hathen's bandcamp and buy the soundtrack there instead of on steam, that way you can download it in a higher bitrate flac. The steam copy of the soundtrack is also EXTREMELY outdated, containing only 15 tracks, while the bandcamp purchase contains 27 at that higher bitrate. ----- TL;DR: It's a mixed bag. Some bad, some good. DO NOT buy it on Steam, go to the Bandcamp. Steam download is extremely outdated and low quality. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
