NOPE! Hard pass everyone, im going to hide the from my list to get the taste out of my mouth faster. First if it wasn't looking like another abandon heap at this point make issues exist;
-wonky controls/ and inconsistent scheme when going from walk to jets
-Even for EA style there is almost no parts to work with eg no 1x1 panel and girder only restricting build potentials greatly
-Bad tutorial if you can call a side window to click through that skips 90% of what you'd expect to get going. like what key swaps tank and normal walk modes
-like 6 resources for all builds seemed a nice change from single item craft $ or energy type building but lame
-no detail on weapon and many other bits
-numerous better ship build and fight style games out there, some of them still free like Cosmoteer via dev site
Key this is a dead game and if not the devs have forgotten to care and update, even seeing where it may go leave too much to be desired. Even when i got this as a fill in for better space games to get some time and polish like Zero Falls. The discussion page is half wonder about if alive even or poor controls queries. no just no. Least when Double Fine ditched DF9 they tossed out some free hack n slash a try but not a finished game, we wont see any of that here, Avoid this one at all costs!!!!
PS prove me wrong Dev prove me wrong.

Planetes has been on my wishlist for a very long time so was excited to see it had finally came out.
This game is VERY early in development, it requires a lot of work to make it into a decent game, at the moment it has that early access, ok I’ve achieved everything what’s next even after little play time.
It seems to have a good underpinning but it needs that hook to want you to come back and work with the UI, sound and some sort of build tutorial too would be handy
It gets a recommendation as the price point is decent, I didn't encounter any bugs BUT be prepared there isn't much to do if you pick it up.

Loving this game! Have played both online and offline modes. Offline is chilled, work out some great builds and blow shizzle up :) Also useful for working out some PvP builds for the online mode.
Online mode a lot of fun. Have found players to take on - mostly losing on my part - but a lot to learn and build on for me! Really enjoy the modular nature of the building without any real limits in terms of how you can build.
Minor gripe - still taking me some time to get used to movement but that's a small point compared to the fun being had.

I cant seem to actually get the game to run at all, there is a picture of a sun on the screen but even leaving that for 10 mins in case it is a loading screen made no difference. It just doesnt seem to launch, online or offline. Unfortunately this seems to be a broken game so I cant recommend buying it.

For me it's too late to get a refund, but hopefully you won't have to get a refund because you won't buy the game in the first place. In the game's current state there's not much to do, and the last update was MANY MONTHS AGO! It may be in early access, but at this point I wonder if they're even working on the game at all. This is the first time I've ever given a bad review, but I hope it helps.

Planetes is a fun space game with a lot of potential. Its still an Alpha build so expect a few bugs and not all the content is in game yet but even in it's current state there is plenty of enjoyment to be had.
At its core it's a space sandbox simulation with a great ship/base building mechanic and some really cool physics. There are enough components in the build menu already to let you construct pretty much anything your imagination can come up with. Once your ship is ready you can find other players to engage in PvP or just cruise the solar system trying to avoid planets, asteroids and the Sun! There isn't any PvE in game yet but get a few friends on a server and you can have a great laugh. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

It looks like the game is too early in its development to be worth paying for. Looks very promising but offline mode is bugged and it is unclear what you have to do to get started.
I tried to play online but the two official servers are empty and there are no community servers. When I tried logging in to an official server, I got stucked looking at a sun not being able to do anything. I had to alt-f4 to get out of it.
I might pick this game up later, but for now I have to ask for a refund, even if I got it on sale.

Its been 3-4 years since the last update, this game is seemingly completely abandoned by the devs and its a shame too, this game is interesting abit with the limited content it has, but the most basic of building blocks are there for a game that could have been interesting and unique.
Could, and yet its been left dead and untouched for so long, there really isn't a point buying this and it certainly isn't worth the 7£ shame. but not much can be done, not like this would just become public software for people to mod and improve anyways
