Wordlase is one of those word puzzle games where you are given a somewhat long word and must pick out words that you can make using the letters from that root word. That's right, the developers entire business model is to compete with the puzzle section at the back of the newspaper. And thousands of free browser games. By putting a paid product on Steam. Polluting the place with garbage and making gaming slightly worse for everyone.
The best part about this game, and the reason it's attracted a few fake positive reviews, is that despite being a wordgame, the developer doesn't know English so none of the puzzles work properly, as many of the basic words just aren't right. Things that aren't words will be accepted. Known English words will be rejected. There's a background story to the game, and the English translation is a complete and utter joke, it's so bad it really is funny... for about 20 seconds. That's right, this is word game from a developer that doesn't know what's a word and what isn't.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
The game interface is mostly just text boxes/dialogs and features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/HTML games from the 1990s. While that might be fine for the 1990s, gaming has evolved a lot since then, the ATI Rage became mainstream in 1996... it's 2023, and that kind of thing just won't fly anymore, it's just not visually up to scratch.
For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static images... it might as well be a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
You don't have to take my word about how bad the game is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. Wordlase has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for starting the game (beyond the intro), trivial to achieve, but less than 7 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 7 percent of players bothered playing the game for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this game to have so many concurrent players who weren't even playing the game? Trading cards. Players will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game. That tells us people only really bought this game for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
Wordlase is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

If you want to extend your vocabulary, then this game is recommended for you. From a long word, you need to break them down into simplier words and you can view their meanings as well. Words progress as level rises.
The achievements of this game is easy but it may take awhile because the achievements are level-based. You will be awarded an achievement every time you reach a particular level. Gaining new words is the compensation for playing it for long hours, take it as an alternative Meriam-Webster Dictionary online.
Enjoy the game. Recommended for gamers who likes their brain to function and gain and understand certain words for daily preferences.

Would be a decent game of the genre if it had a decent vocabulary. It does not recognize many basic english words.

Wordlase is a pretty generic words game, but, if you are looking for a game to spend half an hour on in order to keep your brain in shape (and maybe learn a word or two), it serves its purpose.

I wanted to like this game! Unfortunately, the best part about this game is the soundtrack. Unfortunately, the game doesn't know basic words (e.g. Week is known, but weak is not).
If you are going to make a word puzzle game, at least include ALL of the words possible to make from each word.

The game really has a lot of potential, & it may even be good to some people, but I just don't think it's worth it in the end.
It's really only one factor, which is the English "compatibility" issue. What I mean is that there are a TON of actual (and very simple) English words that this game doesn't recognize as English words. It also doesn't seem to like most plural versions of words that will work in each puzzle respectively - yet some plurals do count, it's somewhat easy to recognize these patterns, but it ends up ruining the flow and the fun in my opinion.
I'm not sure if there are other languages to choose from (I assume there are) but at least for English-only speakers, I wouldn't recomend this game because of those issues which pop up many, many times throughout the entire game.
Just doesn't compare to games similar to itself, that you can probably get for free too.

I made it to level 251. I'm so educated, I apply for english lecturer.
Seriously, the game has some educational value.
pros and cons:
+ You can set the background colour.
+ Autosave, even if you try other languages.
- The music becomes very annoying after a while. Play something from your own playlist instead.
First impression is like meh, too hard or boring, but after 50 levels the game becoming addictive.
It's a word-puzzle game, the only anime content is already shown on the store page.
7/10 The core of the game is good but the wrap could be better.

Not recommended.
Game developer simply ignores posts about game issue (thread on forums)

it's been a month or so, I asked what to do because game fails to start all of a sudden, developer went and asked "is it works now?" (maybe to troll me:)) and never got back since that "question". Linux port of the game still does not work and I have no idea how to fix it. Wasted money. Too bad we have no way to get mandatory support here on steam. Every indie developer can just take your money and ingnore your queries.
Avoid this game if you're looking to play it on Linux.

[OK]
- Have Steam Achievement.
- Have Steam Cloud to save progress on cloud.
- Pretty Character.
- This game doesn't exceed the RAM limit around 130 MB.
[NOT OK]
- Don't have Voice Characters.
- Can't adjust display like resolution and window mode.
- In English language, it makes me confusion because too many word that didn't already in English dictionary.
- I told ya, there is no "sen" in Indonesia and Cambodia.
[RECOMMEND]
NO, because [NOT OK] have more important obstacles.
[ADDITIONAL NOTE]
I just play this game for showing my game play in my Steam profile until 100 hrs played or above. And I can taking the time to playing if I have boring.

OMG. What looks like a low priced and fun little word puzzle game is nothing but utter frustration.
Why?
Ugh, this is an absolute "perfect example" of why you should NEVER make a game, especially of this nature in a language which you are not well versed in. Good grief!
The game asks you to make smaller words using the letters in any order from a bigger word that it gives you, however it doesn't recognize tons of even the most obvious English words like "is" "if" and "or". In my short time with this game here is a list of words that the game didn't recognize as valid English words (I was playing the game using the ENGLISH language option)
NOT VALID ENGLISH WORDS (According to this game):
---------------------------------------------------------
mad
Is
his
as
beg
if
got
..Notice how the word "got" is NOT a valid word according to this game, but the word "get" IS recongized as a word and this game will give you its definition of any word should you simply click on it. According to this game, the word "get" has this meaning: "a return on a shot that seemed impossible to reach and would normally have resulted in a point for the opponent".
So words like "is" and "if" aren't valid English words, but words like "pe" is fine and has the meaning "the 17th letter of the Herbew alphabet".
Stay FAR away from this nonsense of a game, at least if you speak English. NOT recommended. I know this game doesn't know that the word "not" is actually an English word, but trust me... it is.
---------------
One last interesting note about this game:
This game recognizes the word "S H I T" as a word and it has this meaning: "something of little value"
...I'm so glad that this game understands what it is worth. Little value. And nowhere near the low price tag asked for here on Steam.
