One Wish Reviews
Сlassic indie horror for one evening. The game has no tips, you need to solve all the puzzles yourself and avoid the monster that wants to devour your soul. Therefore, you need to be very careful and attentive to escape from the nightmare.

Exceedingly boring storyline. Nothing is really scary besides the slightly creepy colorless environment. Extremely confusing puzzles that make very little sense, albeit they are not necessarily difficult to solve.

Im not sure why this is hated on as much as it is. I mean there are definitely things to improve upon such as fixing the jolting movements when you exit the bed in the game as well as the improving the movement of the monster thats encountered also. Those are both very nit picky things but will make a big difference to the quality and immersion of game play for players. Despite these tiny things i really enjoyed the game, short and simple with a lot of interesting features and unique puzzles and you didnt die to the enemy every 3 seconds!!! Overall if your reading this and thinking about buying 1)what do you have to loose its insanely cheap (especially at the time of writing) and 2) Its about 30 mins of gameplay so why not

Very short (~30 min) Black and white minimally textured environment, providing a cold, empty feeling. The red (color equated with danger) is a strong contrast to this dreary background. Neat idea. There are two simple "figure out the code" puzzles and a few patient charts to read, offering little in the way of story. There's nothing scary here, nor deeply philosophical. Get it deeply discounted, as it is not at all worth $5, but a better game than the other GDNomad "creepy house, don't go in the basement" clones.

One Wish is a generic horror game with corridors, locked doors, keys and what looks like a limbo or purgatory. There are the usual notes and not-so-scary jumpscares. It's nothing that hasn't been done before 100 times, but much better.

This is yet GDNomad's best game and it says much about how bad the rest of the games are, really. Although, I am going to not recommend this game.
Pros:
+ Story (rather deep for a GDNomad game)
+ There actually are puzzles in this game
+ Readable notes
Cons:
- Poor scares
- Terrible puzzles
- Images you can find throughout the game makes less sense to the entire plot
As I tried to understand and appreciate this game, it shows off to be edgy in the end and becomes rather appalling for the entire story and content.

One Wish is a means for GDNomad to deliver a short, disposable message about life.
Unlike previous games from Nomad, this game is a lot more polished; it’s made in Unity, not FPSCreator. There are no long loading times or crashing present here, and it looks decent visually.
Despite being Nomad’s eighth game, story remains his weakest point. The plot is still communicated through scrolling text or papers laying around. The message isn’t anything new either. The horror is also cheesy once it goes overboard near the end of the game.
However, Nomad’s emphasis on a “minimum of tips” is a step in the right direction. The puzzles are not completely brainless this time, and the story requires some thought (and not just because the translations are terrible).
One Wish is not frustrating like Nomad’s other works; it’s now “Unity horror game” -tier. It’s not particularly good though, and its message had already been repeated many times before in more impactful ways.

Very forgetful game with about as dull gameplay as it gets. The "puzzles" are extremly simple and no challenge at all. The oly good thing about this game is that it is short (20-30 min) and delivers a strong important message about "life" at the end.
You can watch my full playthrough and review of the game HERE: (SPOILER WARNING)

I scored this game at a 58% even considering its under $1 price tag.. and it still gets my "not recommend" however it does seem as if this developers games are improving as this game was far superior to "White Mirror" he launched back in January of 2016.
Pros:
✨ Enchanting Story I think One Wish offers an enchanting and heartfelt story that draws you in. The narrative is engaging and emotionally resonant, making it a standout feature of the game. ✨📖
🎨 Beautiful Art Style The game boasts a beautiful art style with stunning visuals and detailed environments. The artistic direction adds a charming and immersive quality to the gameplay. 🎨🌟
🎵 Captivating Music The music in One Wish is captivating and complements the game's atmosphere perfectly. The soundtrack enhances the emotional impact and creates a memorable experience. 🎵🎶
🕹️ Intuitive Gameplay The gameplay is intuitive and easy to grasp, allowing you to focus on the story and exploration without being bogged down by complex mechanics. 🕹️👌
Cons:
📉 Pacing Issues One downside is the pacing issues in the story. At times, the game can feel slow, and certain sections might drag, affecting the overall flow. 📉⏳
🔄 Limited Replayability I feel that the game has limited replayability. Once you’ve experienced the story, there isn’t much incentive to replay it, as the narrative doesn’t change significantly. 🔄🔁
Other Drawbacks:
🔧 Minor Technical Glitches Personally, I encountered some minor technical glitches, such as occasional frame drops and bugs. While not game-breaking, these issues can slightly detract from the overall experience. ⚠️🔧
🌐 No Multiplayer Options The game lacks multiplayer options, which could have added an extra layer of fun and interaction. Including cooperative or competitive modes might have enhanced the experience. 🌐👥

Personal Comment One Wish shines with its enchanting story, beautiful art style, and captivating music. The intuitive gameplay allows you to enjoy the narrative without much hassle.
However, pacing issues and limited replayability might affect the overall experience. Minor technical glitches and the lack of multiplayer options also impact the game.
Overall, One Wish is a charming choice for players who enjoy emotionally resonant stories and immersive visuals. If you appreciate a heartfelt narrative and artistic design, it’s definitely worth a look.

One Wish is another game from the notorious developer GDNomad and I will say I'm glad this is the last one I have to review (for now).
Story:
You play as an unnamed man. He awakens in a hospital after what seems to be a car crash and it seems he is stuck in limbo, as you try of figure out what happened and how to get out.
GDNomad is not know to be subtle with his plots and this is something that is also very apparent in this game. You know how the game will end as soon as you see the opening cutscene. His other games usually have at least charmingly bad plotlines, there is none of that here.
Graphics:
The graphics of One Wish are a major step up from his other games, but they are not that great. The game has that very stock Unity look, most textures look very plastic-y and so does everything else. Most of the game looks like you're not in a hospital, but instead a Barbie Hospital playset.
One thing I will say I really liked the lighting effects in the game. There was actually some great tricks the game used like hiding something bright in the dark, which creeped me out a bit when I first played it.
Audio:
The audio design is awful. There's only one track playing for most of the game and it loops every so often and it's not very good. It's a very generic creepy track you can probably get off a royalty free site. As for the rest of the audio design, there's only a few noises like enemies screaming which sound really crunched and not fit in with how clean the music is.
Gameplay:
One Wish is basically a walking simulator with a couple puzzles thrown in for good measure. The puzzles themselves, if you can call them that is basically you paying attention to your surroundings. Honestly the puzzles are incredibly easy to the point where the store pages description of the puzzles is rather bold.
Other than puzzle solving, all you do is walk around the hospital reading notes. There is an enemy to avoid, but he will not come after you, all you have to do is avoid him and that's it. Even though the enemies had a preset path in his other games, at least you were being chased, which does not happen here.
Verdict:
One Wish is easily the best game GDNomad has made, but it's also his most boring game to date. Predictable and bland plot, easy puzzles and not to mention, not scary. At least his other games had that so bad charm, this has none of that, so just like his other games, avoid at all costs.
Final Rating:
3/10
Pros:
+ Best game GDNomad has made
Cons:
- Predictable plot
- Puzzles are way too easy
- Audio design is not very good
