I gave hack_me 2 a try, and I can tell they made some steps forward compared to the first one. The UX is improved - controls felt smoother, and there’s now a basic kind of in‑game guide that at least explains more than the original ever did. That said, it’s still missing a proper tutorial at the start, so new players can feel confused at the beginning.
Unfortunately, the game is buggy and I couldn’t even finish it - when I tried to use the BForce tool on the in‑game “http://truenews.com,” it outright stopped working, preventing me from progressing. It’s a commendable attempt at improvement, but with major flaws still in place. Overall, the experience remains frustrating. Not really recommended.
EDIT: I managed to finish the game.
