The game is a good platform/metroidvania with smooth controls and nice graphics. I would not say it's a masterpiece but it's worth playing.

I wanted to like this game, but the controls are awful. It feels like you are playing an Ice level the whole time, I got as far as the actual Ice level and quit because it was unplayable.

Really loved this game. Aesthetics are amazing, and the story has a lot of hidden depth. At the beginning I was wondering if I was imagining some meanings, but as I progressed in the game I realised it was all carefully planned. Pay attention to the dialogues, as they´re really good. Maybe it´s a bit too difficult though, and better map or guidance to decide your way would be appreciated. Just finished it, but I´m replaying it again as I didn´t get all the Asher pieces! I defeinitely recommend this game!

I came across a review of this game in a magazine and decided to give it a try. Turned out to be one a great surprise, a good reason for trying more indie games. I had real fun and would definitely recommend it, specially for the ones who feel nostalgia for 2D classic games such as Castlevania

I loved the game. The art style is cool and the game-play can either be really easy or really hard depending on which difficulty setting you decide to play it on. It is a fun little metroidvania that easily used up ten hours of my life getting most of the achievements. The last three I don't expect to be too tough on easy mode, except for the pacifist achievement which I think will be more of a pain in the butt than the rest of them. Those damn mongos are everywhere and it is tough not to kill one on accident... If you like metroidvanias and bright colors this may be a game for you. [strike]There are two secrets that I couldn't figure out though and they may be connected. [/strike]There is a trap door at the beginning of the game that I can't open for the life of me [strike]and an area at the end of the game that I can't quite reach[/strike]. If anyone figures out how to open that damn door please post the solution to the discussion boards... EDIT: I got the last 3 achievements in one final play-through on easy mode and it took about 2 hours. The pacifist achievement was still annoying though...

Graphically, you hardly know what is an enemy and what is part of the background. There's no clear indication of what platforms are passable. Too fast respawn of enemies.

start out ok, intriguing story. control is not tight but bearable. but man the backtracking is horrendous. also, the hero runs sometimes too fast for the screen to catch up, resulting in unfair hits... all in all, not recommened.

This is a really cute Metroidvania/platformer. It is the right amount of spooky for Halloween and has a lot of charm. There are many colorful enemies, backrounds and friendlies, which is really refreshing in our current dark gloomy trends in gaming. At the time of writing this I appear to be about 75% along in the game and around 5 hours in. This game seems to be a little on the challenging side for a mostly casual gamer like myself. I did end up switching the difficulty to easy, but that's after playing through a ton of Cuphead recently and getting tired of dying a lot in. I do want to make a point to say the music is really good. It helps to push the game even more towards Castlevania, which is great for me. For under $10, it's a great game for fans of Castlevania, or for people that like Metroidvanias and want something a little different. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bEoHf17H-g

A really fun little Metroidvania game that is literally family friendly. A 5 year old can play this and enjoy it and a 50 year old can play this and enjoy it as well as everyone in between. The graphics are charming, the combat is rewarding and challenging right from the get go (depending on set difficulty). Has a nice retro filter if you're into that, it can be toggled on or off, so you don't HAVE touse it. Definitely worth the 10 dollars it costs.

I can't say that I don't like the game, as, conceptually, I do. Unfortunately, the faux-interlacing effect that the game has destroys my eyes, and gives me a headache after ~15 minutes of playing. We moved away from interlaced monitors for a reason, and it wasn't because an artificially-generated interlacing effect is somehow less annoying. Unfortunately, as another reviewer mentioned, there are no video settings at all. No option to choose your resolution, no option to disable the interlacing effect, and, seemingly not even an INI file I can edit to change settings. It checks your hardware, and sets things how it feels like they should be configured, and that's all. Add an option to disable interlacing so that I can get into the game a bit, and I might recommend it. Edit: The game is much more playable at 1080P, thanks to the new resolution settings, but the interlacing still bothers me - though, not nearly as much as it used to. I would still like to see the ability to disable the interlacing effect - though, being able to set the resolution to my monitor's native 1440p might help enough to get by. Here's to hoping it continues to improve. Thanks for listening to your customers. Hopefully I will be able to play soon, to be able to give you a full updated review... but we will see how long I can play with the interlacing effect!
