"𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞" is a psychological horror game that everyone who has a taste for horror should play. The story is divided into 'chapters' which mostly take place in a house where you will wander around a lot and the game is very reminiscent of P.T.
I rate the game 11/10

So after trying visage in the past and finding it boring and infuriating, I actually played the Dolores chapter and used a walkthrough. This was really creepy and pretty fun.
However while im not saying you would need a walkthrough to complete this game, it was really helpful for certain parts of it. “Moon logic” was a term leveraged against Sierra games in the past, meaning puzzles that were illogical and unintuitive. Visage has a huge case of moon logic
The game is also kind of silly which works with the edgy tone. Like for every section where someone self-harms, you have sections where like the kitchen comes to life and the appliances start arguing with each other

Pair it with good headphones and a quiet environment you get some suspenseful thrills when exploring the house. The sanity mechanic of staying in the light, the paranormal events that occur with what follows when staying too long in the dark. When it comes to horror games like this, i'm the biggest chicken. I don't know if something was slowly making it's way to me in the attic but having the lights go off and loosing the fuel from my lighter few seconds later, the hair on my arms slowly creeping up, the small pause of silence to quickly running down... Yes I was clinching my ass as if something was getting closer. It was not a nice feeling.

this game reminds me a bit Madison horror game, it is one of the scariest game i ever played but the gameplay is just so boring and frustrating you just walk around try to figure out what to do next and game does not help you where you should go first, like it"s very difficult to find some things and no one is talking about the bugs in the game and how expensive it iss (i finally finished the game but it was annoying)

Because it's more expensive than a lot of indie horror games and had good reviews, I "saved" this one until I beat a few others. I was completely let down and this game sucks. They admit to being inspired by Amnesia: TDD, so I'll compare to that.
-Not being completely linear only works if you know what you're doing. Too many times already I was wandering forever to find an item I needed, completely ruining the flow of the game. In Amnesia everything was intelligently designed enough that you did wander, but eventually found what you were looking for. Here, I needed walkthroughs. Obviously the garage key is in the dryer, you idiot. Are you immersed yet???
-There's some okay tension, but a lot of jumpscares are cheap Amityville Horror shit. After so much wandering, I'm so annoyed with the game that a door opening or a light bursting I could care less about. It also plays EXTREMELY slow and I feel like I'm moving through molasses everywhere.
-The controls are horrible. Whoever created them needs flogged.
-The sanity system is cheap and not at all as in depth as Amnesia's felt. There's no slow descent into madness, just another annoying mechanic you suddenly die from.
-There's no hiding from enemies, no stalking, no strategizing to get past them, not really even any good chases. Every once in a while you kinda just get randomly stabbed and die. What did you do wrong? Who knows.
-The world is not interesting and the lore is barely there in some audio tapes and vague writings. While Amnesia's story and world slowly and brilliantly unfolded, here you're just trying to get.... uhhhhhh get some woman named Dolores' kid back. Why? Who knows. You can do chapters in any order, too, so there's very little continuity or respect for pacing. You're basically just wandering a funhouse and doing cheap sandbox horror.
And, for some reason, the game kept launching on the wrong monitor and I kept having to switch it back. So fuck you.

perfect environment to have a scary environment and amazing sound design but the actual game play is frustrating and boring. you will endlessly wander and not know what to next because the game design doesn't attempt to direct you what to do next the real horror here is the gameplay

Wow, what a game.🔥🔥🔥
Unique in every way. But be careful the game is very difficult and almost impossible to complete without some quality guide.
Good luck, you'll need it.
10/10.
