THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV STEAM EDITION UPGRADE PACK #1 DLC

I rarely recommend DLC content...But here we are. All four characters play and look fantastic. Ryuji and his crazy arms will always have a place in my heart.

I don't own a PS4 so I was hoping they would release a Steam Edition for this game and I'm glad that I waited! I have been a fan of the KOF series since KOF '98 and I LOVE this game! I hope they decide to release more DLC for it. If not, then I hope they at least have KOF XV in development!

Just compare the ton of content this DLC gives with the season characters passes from Street Fighter V and both prices. Vanessa is pretty, Yamazaki is funny, Whip uses a... whip and Rock Howard is the best addition to the game, with cool looking combos. Definitely pick this up if you like the game and if this goes on a sale.

Great music! Not played enough of the game... but it seems solid. Still a bit undecided on the art-style. Well worth a purchase, even just for the soundtrack...

Love this game. Shady had it on PS4. Looks and plays excellent on steam. Anyone know where to view the art book? Says it's available with the upgrade pack..

No doubt to coincide with Street Fighter V Season 2, because SNK's main thing with KOF XIV seems to be "Make Street Fighter V look even worse than it already is," SNK's first pack of DLC is a really good purchase. You get four characters, all veterans, and some cool costumes. I'll start with the characters. The characters for KOF XIV are all returning veterans from older KOF games, making their first appearance in 3D (I see you typing a comment about Rock Howard in Maximum Impact, if you do, do you remember Street Fighter EX?). The selection seems to favor the NESTS era, or at the very least KOF 2002. On the bright side, this gives you a chance to complete some missing teams, like the 2002 Hero Team with Whip joining Maxima and K'. The major star of this one is Rock Howard, who makes his debut in the KOF series after being told he was saved for the sequel to Garou: Mark of the Wolves. All these characters play well and are neat additions to the game. Then there's the costumes. To start with, we have retro-style looks for Kyo, Iori, and Athena. Kyo's schoolboy look is simply his iconic look, and one of his color palettes is even the classic green of the Neo Geo. Classic Iori simply IS Iori, no question about it. Athena's a little weird since she tends to change her outfit every game, but I like the choice of the 98 outfit. The rest of the costumes are nice, Nakoruru's schoolgirl outfit puts her in the modern age to make her distinct from her Samurai Showdown version, Shun'ei and Silvie's outfits are not as over-designed as their defaults and look better for it, and Angel and Kula's outfits are just harmless fun. This DLC pack is quite a value for your money. $5 a character and costumes as a bonus. Not a bad little price, when all is said and done, and for characters like these, then it's a worthwhile purchase in my eyes. Moreover, the DLC is being used to add to the game, as opposed to being needed to compete, given the already large roster. This is how DLC should be done; as additions, rather than paywalls. So don't feel like you have to purchase it, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you do. Recommended.

As another reviewer said, the only negative thing about this pack is that Rock doesnt say anything when he faces Geese or Zombie Geese...other than that, awesome pack, all the characters are great, the costumes, and even the extras they threw in.

Good characters to be DLC'd since they're popular and many also use them. Tbh wait for a sale when character DLC comes up if you're a casual.

All of the characters are good, but my boi Rock Howard and Yamazaki are good as hell. Music is actually pretty good, I just wish instrumentation was a lot less synthy. And the artbook let me jack it to Mian more.
