Great sound editer, contains a good user interface and is easy to use, but features more in depth tools if you know about sound editing.

This is a great wave editor with so many features packed into a tiny installation. If only it supported VST3 plugins.

WavePad, is an audio editor, which may be used to create or edit recorded audio, and to create, change, and enhance audio, and offers relatively advanced editing functionalities, which can be used to archive, or for creative purposes and remastering. An audio file is displayed as a waveform, with a frequency and an amplitude, which can then be thoroughly altered by using the tools this software includes, to change certain properties of the sound. A responsive interface uses buttons to access these functionalities. Buttons have tooltips, which offer insight into what they can be used for, and encourage experimentation, because they are easy to access. The interface is also easy on the eyes. WavePad, is interesting to play with, because it offers creative freedom to what can be done with a sound, because the waveform may manually be worked on to such a degree, that after manually editing the sound, the sound may be highly modified. This software offers a relatively broad range of important requirements for when playing with audio, and supports quite a few file formats.

I know very little about sound software, but this program has always done anything I've needed. So far that has been -Putting effects on sounds -Trimming and silencing -combining two sound files into one -converting from one sound file type to another

Despite Magix's introduction of Sound Forge 12 AE, the actual editing performance is less than Sound Forge Pro This program, frankly speaking. Design is not that attractive, but it is functional enough to be starter-friendly, but it has some degree of control over the professional range I think that this program is competitive enough, even though it is twice the price ps. if you are home user, this program provide free version with little difference from the commercial version. try it https://wavepad.en.softonic.com/
