biggest upside is that you can make sets of colours that will all get along very well between each other, no matter the hue. the rest of its features are all upsides and deserve appreciation. sometimes you end up with colours that look very alike but have slightly different HSV numbers, but it's not that big of a deal when you manually curate colours anyway. its only downside is that it lags the more colours one works with (uses a lot of memory regardless of that).

A really nifty, covenient tool for the working digital artists and designers! It may not look as much, but it provides a big bang for the creative minds when it comes to coming up with a colour scheme and/or building up a pallete for a project/product. It's fast, it's simple and it does a solid job! I highly reccomend this software, it will help with many digital art and design projects on the long run! You won't regret it~

Very good tool, especially for just 5€. This tool is exactly what I have been looking for. You can create versatile color palettes and save them in a project file (.json format) to further extend on those palettes gradually using this tool. You can work with multiple sets of colors at once, group and entitle them. You could then easily take out color values (rgb/cmyk/hex) directly (to use them in a web project for example) or export them as either .aco (Adobe Color file), .png or .gpl file. So you can easily import and use your palette(s) in programs like Photoshop or Illustrator. I think the .gpl files are for GIMP. But otherwise you could also just import the .png file in any program and use their color picker tool to get the color values, that's just a tad less convenient. There is also a built in color picker, where you can load a picture file, zoom in and pick colors quick and precisely. The developer also takes feedback and ideas from the tools' steam community in consideration. So there seem to be more neat features in the works, which is great. The only thing I don't like about the tool is the look of the round buttons. I would prefer are more Material Design-like approach but well, it's just aesthetics and up to your personal taste. Feature-wise I'd just wish that when you are using color chords, that it would also show their position in the color wheel, e.g. displaying two other circles when using triadic colors that are linked to the selectable color circle. But that's also a rather minor thing. All in all, I am loving it so far. Heavily recommended. (review of v1.24)

At first it got a little confusing, as someone who would use Digital Art Software and Video Editing Software without any knowledge, it took me around 10 minutes to get all the ins and outs of the program, which wasn’t half bad in all honesty. I don’t think it’s worth the initial $5 but getting this on sale for $0.49 seems to be alright. However, despite it’s neat color Palette board and strong GUI, I could just use the Colors in the Art Software I have, and even ones they have on the internet for free, which I have also tried and found with good results. I used GIMP (Art Software) for a bit and it worked like any other Software I’ve used. It’s nice have some features of it on standby but from where it stands I would only recommend it if it was a $1 or cheaper. At least it works as intended, my initial thought was that it would help port the color I wanted to use into the Software that I’m working with, but that was just an expectation I shouldn’t have set.

After only owning this for about a day, I've already gotten a lot of use out of it. I know there are quite a few free, browser-based programs that help you to create palettes, but -- well, for 50 cents, I figured I'd try Swatcher. :) It's helped me to better understand the color wheel and create better, more exciting color palettes in my art. If you're someone that has difficulty with choosing which colors to use, I'd recommend this program for sure.

No new features in years, there are dozens of free web-services that offer much more features with better UI.

In fact, the built-in swatch generators in image editing programs are much more convenient and efficient than this specialized program. If you are expecting advanced functionality and some more subtle tuning, there is no such thing here. Screenshots can confuse you. but in fact, there are only three parameters that can be changed, and these parameters change the entire palette tone, instead of randomizing palette colors within the specified range. Same with complementary/analogous/etc. colors, they do not vary, but simply are a direct change of the main palette by shifting hue to the fixed degree. You have to choose all the colors manually, which is not much different from how you would do it yourself using only the color ring. Also, this program stably loads your CPU by 10-20% even if you do not do anything in it.

Took me a little while to understand the program but it's simple and yet extremely useful once you know what it can do. The only thing that I missing in it is a screen color picker or a photo hex picker.

Update reveiw: Significant update to the software in july 2017 adding export formats ACO. Positives: Uses the complementary color methods, complementary, analogous, split, triadic. Has custom gradiant feature letting you ad two hex colour codes and slide between them. Can adjust Saturation & black levels separate from picked color values to create highlight and shadow swatches. Four common color formats are displayed as sliders and input box's. Ability to generate named groups for color swatch. Able to use the software without internet. Export for adobe ACO, gimp GPL & PNG Colour picker from imported image file Negatives: only able to import/open json format swatches, so remember to save you swatch to this format aswell for later editing. Colour pick requirs shuffling tabs/sections per colour. Missing tetradic. Conclusion: The update vastly improves this software so I can use it for work flow. I like this software it's easy to use and handy. It can now export to common file formats to be opened in paint programs like gimp and clip studio. It's a great option for mobile artists as alternatives Like paletton or adobe require an internet connection and have some issues making them less usfull. Adobe colour cc: Lacks Split complementery opting for the other tridic known as secondary or primary resulting more bold harsh tones Paletton: Needs numeric input values sessions.edu/color-calculator/ cannot create import formats. The only thing missing for swatcher is being able to import swatch formats to edit but you can use the pick function to add them from a print screen.

Easy to use for creating palettes. I have it in the background when designing and tab between my studio and Swatcher. The UI is simple just as demonstrated in the video. I have nothing negative to say about the software really.
