This game is completely broken, it crashes all the time. I can't even go 10 seconds without it freezing, going to a black screen and then finally closing itself. Do not buy!!!

This is a first-class game. Graphic in this game is simply beautiful. The storyline is well done and held my interest through the end. The mini games and hidden object scenes were from easy to hard difficulty. Pros: + voice-over + concept art Cons: - no fast travel map

I really want to recommend this game because I loved the first half. Amazing experience. But I can't. Pros .Intriguing story .Artwork/graphics/scenes are gorgeous .Music/sounds are haunting .Beautifully eerie, immersive atmosphere .Scenes are often interactive (ie. move chandeliers) .Lots and lots of hidden object scenes .Enjoyable, clever mini-puzzles .The tool for two-step HO can be stored in toolbar after located if not used right away .The journal entries are helpful and entertaining .The guide is amazing. Everything was laid out step-by-step-by-step. Cons .No widescreen .No ability to choose a difficulty setting .Nonlinear play .No mini-map .A lot of tracking back and forth (ie 8 scenes from Lily's Room to boy's room) .Toolbar cannot be locked in up position .When tool/clue bar was in play during hidden object scenes could not lock on tool side .No glow to indicate a tool is in right position over an object to use on it .Clicking on things could be very finicky, especially in the bonus segment. But none of the cons were deal breakers. Could be seen as minor annoyances or addition challenges. It was the glitches that killed the game for me: 1) Glints worked inconsistently; automatically pointing out some items in each scene but not others. I could not find any rhythm or reason to it. 2) In one hidden object scene, the box I was suppose to gift wrap did not appear. I found where it was suppose to be from the guide, clicked on the area with the gift wrapping and it worked but this made me leery of investing a lot of time searching the hidden object scenes which is the point of the game. 3) The game would not let me interact with the treehouse until after I had the weight in my possession. I searched for fifteen minutes thru scene after scene before I gave up and searched thru the guide for help and discovered I should have been able to take actions I have previously tried in the game and would have had a clue which would have sent me straight there. Now I was leery of the game play itself. 4) The game would not let me take the grappling hook until I opened the skull head. I clicked on it, it disappeared, I thought it was in my inventory. But no. It's a beautiful, beautiful game and I am not sorry I experienced the first half but too many glitches for me to recommend it or purchase the others in the series.

Okay, this is the first of the Dark Dimensions series. A note in the beginning of the game states that researchers think about 30% of the Earth is made up of Dark Matter particles, and that they may cause these Dark Dimensions to appear. One of which is in the U.S., at the site of a missing city in the fog called Silverton, Maine. And of course, you are going to explore it! Once there you discover the causes of its mysterious disappearance. And now you need to solve it, before you are lost to the Fog as well! The minigames are challenging, the HO scenes fun, and the plot engaging.

Game Information "Dark Dimension: City of Fog" is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game. The game was developed by Daily Magic Productions and published by Big Fish Games Studio. "City of Fog" is the first episode of "Dark Dimension." Since this is a collector's edition, it comes with extra features that are not available in its counterpart; the standard edition. The Game Review Game Visuals I want to mention that the visual for the game is nicely done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu. Game Audio I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well. Gameplay There are no game difficulty modes to choose from. The notebook keeps track of the progression in the game. Such as story events and clues. There is no interactive map in the game. The player has to remember where to go in the game. There is no padlock feature that is available to lock the inventory panel in place. The inventory panel does slide up when it is being moused over. The hidden object scenes consist of the following: Traditional word lists. Some of these hidden object scenes may require little or no interactions. The puzzles are fairly easy to solve without having the need to skip any of them. Since this is a collector's edition game, there is a bonus chapter, it can be accessed only after the main story is completed. Miscellaneous There are extra features in the game: Bonus Chapter; Game's Strategy Guide; Soundtracks; Concept Art and Wallpapers. Most of these extra features can be accessed only after the entire game is completed. Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.

An absolutely atrocious game; one of the worst examples of the genre I have ever played. There are certain problems that often occur in HOPAs, and this game has them all. Anachronistic items, mislabelled items, poor translations, overly picky click zones, nonsense puzzles, long and tedious backtracking without a fast travel; you name it, Dark Dimensions is guilty of it. Add to that the fact that there are no resolution options, so the game screen is either a tiny window that you can barely see anything in or a stretched mess that pushes windows off your second screen. Also, the game has a constant barrage of 'spooky' sounds that are actually just very annoying and in no way scary that simply add to the many frustrations that cripple any enjoyment of the game. This is an easy skip; there are much better HOPAs for the same or less money.

I played this part way (the free version) on IOS when I was really little and I enjoyed it so much. Since then it's been basically my roman empire. I enjoyed this thoroughly, and even though some of the graphics and stuff are outdated (I had to play in window mode the whole time) It's still an enjoyable story and I think it holds up okay.

Really great game and till your 2 hours in and get an error message that takes you back to the beginning of the game but you cannot carry on playing as you still have items in your inventory from further into the game. so disappointing.

Its a nostalgic game for me. Im enjoying replaying it 10 years later. I wish there was an option of a full screen though.

This game was pretty well-crafted. It got atmosphere and a good story to tell. I liked the suspence and plot twist to it. The ending of the bonus game left me with a bitter taste. It should have been more thoughtful, than abrupt. However, I liked the way it started where we finish in the main game. So, without further ado, I present you with the advantage and disadvantage list: PROS: - Great scenery (especially James' farm); - Few but spot on jumpscares (ghosts and grunts); - Chilling music and environmental sounds; - Great story behind a lost city from Maine; - Love-triangle theme that contains interesting plot twists; - The Guide is very helpful; - Main Game + Bonus Chapter; - Good voice-overs; - Divers minigames; CONS: - At times, you have to click directly on the object to take it during HO games; - No fast-travelling map; - No achievements; - No trading cards; - Sometimes the Hint button won't explicitely tell you what to do; - Bonus chapter ends abruptely. Don't be disarmed by the pointed disadvantages. This game is worth playing. It's spooky, it's atmospheric and it's up to you to reach out to the paranormal in order to free the souls from their torment. Are you the one all those town people were looking for? Are you their saviour? Find out by playing this awesome game!
