This is an unfinished game, and playing it is a bad use of your time. The art is mediocre at best. The animation is terrible. There are sounds missing. There is no real game play of any kind. It is all awful. Don't buy it at full price, don't buy it on sale, and don't download it if it ever becomes free. While you're at it, don't buy anything else this clown makes, either, because this pile illustrates just how little he cares about his customers.

After I bought my VR, I was looking a game to try the VR itself. I did not care about game but this one actualy worth to try, I've spent over 3 hours and I had really fun.
As you know the VR library is pretty limited and sometimes might be a little bit expensive but this one is cheap and its really fun. Worth to try!

I don't like it, becase the combat is too simple. You can just randomly swing in an arc and make it through many levels. I do like the effect that shows your blade swings though.

Arena: Blood on the Sand VR is a not so good VR arena fighting game.
Staring the game you are met with the worst locomotion I've seen in VR game. Swing both your arms back and forth to move in the direction you are looking. You can not attack or block while moving making combat and locomotion rather separated from eachother.
The second thing you will notice is that the game has no settings you can change or a way to exit the game.
After starting a game you find yourself in the arena having to survive waves of enemies. You can kill them by swinging your remote like you are playing on the Wii. No use in doing anything else as the game has no further combat mechanics. If you feel like you are about to die, crouch, put your shield above your head and you can no longer be damaged. Just keep stabbing them from under your shield like an angry turtle.
The game has low setting models, textures and animation. Could be fair style for a game, but the mechanics should then at the least be decent. To bad this game doens't have that either. The sound are not always present and enemies have no footstep sounds. Spawns are sometimes bugged meaning you can not reach them and they can't reach you. With no way to exit the game you are now at a ever lasting waiting game.
Don't bother with this game. Its just not good.

Barely worth writing a review for this game. It's bad. Zero positive reviews for a reason. The gameplay is bad, you just wiggle your sword around. It has no depth. It's a melee wave shooter with zero strategy. However, I do want to make some corrections since apparently this game was updated.
You do have swing arm locomotion now. So it's no longer stand still like you may have seen in some videos. Unfortunately, the game is bugged now. You can't damage archers. They show up in the 3rd wave. If you run around they get stuck on the terrain. That means they can't shoot their arrows. You still can't damage them then. You can go sight-seeing around the arena. When you get bored you have to manually quit the game.
I really love Spartacus: Blood and Sand and was hoping this would at least be half-decent. It isn't. It's running on the Unity Engine and it looks like this developer just makes a bunch of trash games on Steam. I made the mistake of buying this game for $2.49 USD. I hate that any of my money went to this dev.
Rate 2/10. It's horrible with no redeeming quality other than it doesn't seem to infect your computer with viruses.

The "combat" is basically nonexistent. Just wail your sword around like a Wii remote and you'll eventually kill the skeleton or the rat. The enemies make no sounds other than when you hit them so they constantly sneak up. The game is not yet ready for Early Access, since it's lacking so many basic things.
Unsatisfying experience - I wanted it to be good, the idea has potential.
