The 2025 version is a whole new level for organic sculpting. Bravo, team.

Though not as robust in features as other sculpting-enabled 3d modeling software, the VR interface is smooth and intuitive and elevates the experience for someone like me that is terrible with traditional 3D software.

When I initially purchased this product, it was called Shapelabs and included a perpetual license that guaranteed all future updates at no extra cost. Now, they’ve rebranded it as Shapelabs 2024 and are marketing the next update as Shapelabs 2025 to justify charging additional fees. I paid nearly 70 euros for what was supposed to be a complete, all-inclusive system, and this feels like a classic bait-and-switch. They’re now trying to sell updates they originally promised would be free.
The so-called 'upgrade' to Shapelabs 2025 isn’t some groundbreaking improvement—it’s essentially the same system with a handful of minor tweaks and fixes. I’m not pursuing a refund because it’s not worth the effort, but I will absolutely call out unethical business practices when I encounter them. And no, I won’t be purchasing any of these 'upgrade DLCs' moving forward.
Don’t get me wrong—I genuinely like this software. But the way they’ve handled this situation makes them untrustworthy, especially at such a steep price point. Charging an additional 30 euros for an 'upgrade' is laughable. I used to recommend this software enthusiastically to my colleagues and students, singing its praises. Now, everyone is questioning my judgment because I encouraged them to buy it. To make things right, I’m reimbursing both current and former students (and let’s be clear, 65 euros aprox. is a significant amount for students). This whole experience has left me ashamed and disillusioned. I’ll never recommend any software to students or anyone again, and I’ll certainly never supporting this company in the future.
In a business or a service, words and promises are more important. When it gets broken, there’s no integrity. They promised something just to break it, and it proves they’d do it again. So stay away from it. At least they could have made changes to new users (at a lower base price) and honouring existing customers. That’s a good business practice, but they wanna screw everyone.
