I bought this game TWICE in order to play local multiplayer on our newly acquired VR headsets.
Our experience:
- Setting up the game took longer than expected as Player Two was unable to see the hosting server until we selected 'Public'. (We were on the same Wifi so not sure how that's supposed to work)
- Once in the game (practise), it appeared that only one player could hit the ball. The other player could activate the putter but swinging did not work. Perhaps this was user-error but we couldn't figure it out.
- The VR teleport function was unreliable often not displaying at all and feeling clunky compared to other titles.
- Player One (the one unable to hit the ball) became unable to open the menu after a while and therefore stuck in the game unable to exit; Thankfully, they were still able to take off the headset to escape the torment of this supposedly excellent game :-/
I should have read the negative reviews first regarding VR support. I believe Steam should remove the "VR Supported" tag (and offer refunds) to save others from falling into this trap.

Golf It! is a fun alternative to Golf With Your Friends. This game is much more difficult to shoot with because you physically control the back-and-forth movement of your putter using the mouse (rather than simply selecting a power), but the holes are generally less technical. It's a different flavour of virtual-online-multiplayer-mini-golf and I still have fun with it. I would recommend it LESS than Golf With Your Friends, but Golf It! is still good!

When it comes to golf games, there's only one that truly stands out. We don't need to talk about "Golf With Your Friends," because it's in a different league entirely. This game is so much better and more realistic. It captures the true feel of golf, not just the party-game chaos.
